	to put it simply, they're using gene splicing and other forms of cutting edge biotechnology to create what would be a perfect human, not only capable of kicking some major butt, but also have a faster recovery rate, and other bonuses like that.

	And according to this Penth indicates the report in her hand. the first generation of altered humans was successful and the changes have bred true in the second generation -- for the most part, it seems. Keeps reading. The second generation has reached adulthood, at lot sooner than unmodified humans do, and they plan to select the best specimens and bred them to get the third generation. Penth looks up. It looks like they are creating a new human race. The question I have is why?

	probably something to do with natural selection, you know, only the best win, the others bite the dust. and they're trying to create a world full of perfect people because current humanity isn't good enough.

	Maybe I'm a bit biased since I used to be part of humanity but I like humans just the way they are. And I'm naturally suspicious of anyone who wants to create a superior race. They tend to have unpleasant plans for anyone who doesn't meet their specifications.

	definately making sure that i take my jacket tomorrow and remind me to put my wrist knife and its sheath in my kit bag. they are not gonna get me, and if they do, i'm not going down without a fight.

	Don't worry. I intend to be loaded for bear tomorrow night too. You can do some amazing things with "don't see it" spells and I'll be at the back of your mind any time you aren't in the ring. Anything goes down, or even seems suspicious, I'll be there.

	Penth spent the next couple of hours examining the protections on the memory sticks and decided on a plan of attack. Unfortunately, bypassing the protections would take more time than she had, Reluctantly, she puts the sticks and the documents back into the bag and tucked the whole back into the safe. She decided that she would perform the spells after they returned from the MMA matches the following night... The next day went quickly. Penth and PD sparred and put in some time with the DVDs. All too soon, the driver brought the car around and they left the Club stopping on the way at "Blade's" apartment. PD quickly assumed her male persona, dressed and returned to the car where Penth waited. They made small talk on the way and were shortly at the venue. Penth exited the car first then the driver pulled around to the back where Hugh waited for Blade....

	*Inside the venue, Penth mingles with the crowd. She had declined another invitation from the promoters and she sensed that they were just as glad that she had. Her heightened senses seemed to indicate that she made them nervous somehow and not in the normal male/female way! She was dressed in the same casual style as most of the spectators. Thanks to her spell work, no one noticed the .45 riding on her right hip or odd armguards that covered her forearms from wrist to elbow. She took a seat ringside and settled in to watch the matches.

	Ringside, Penth pays as much attention to the spectators and corner workers as she does to the fighters themselves and she soon notices something odd. Out of the thousand or so people present a tiny percentage don't feel "right" somehow. She has no words to describe it but she quickly comes to recognize it. She remembers the revelations of the night before and pays closer attention....

	just as PD takes to the ring with her opponent. As promised she sticks to the more basic moves but beats her opponent anyway. as she steps out of the ring she says to Penth d'you know how hard it is to fight simply and NOT get hit

	Penth smiles. I have some idea. While you are waiting for your next opponent to be decided, check out the fighters still backstage and see if any of them seem odd. I describe what to look for but I think you will know it when you sense it.

	I'm trying to pin down what they remind me of but there isn't enough of a "sense" of it for me to get it. Sometimes it seems like "cat" and the next minute it seems like "dog" or "ape." And it is making my hackles rise...
