Well, Skywise got in only about 30 minutes later than I was expecting. He said that the trip up was more hair raising that the trip back. The plows were out in force once the snow stopped falling. The morning has dawned clear and very bright! *ouchie on the eyes!* The sun gets a little higher and more southward, I'm going to be sitting here in my sunglasses!

The Thrashers just won 6-3 over the Colo. Avalanche!!

Hossa scored the last goal clean. (33rd of the year)

Rucchin got nailed with an elbow to the head in the second, and did not return to play.

Lehtonen was brilliant as usual in goal, and anchored the team to this clean win. (48 shots against, 45 saves, a record)

Kovalchuck was back on his game, and played with the quick leadership we have come to expect from him, scoring the first goal of the game just into the first period.

The Thrashers led by two going into the second, and by three going into the third. The Avalanche gained a goal in the third, quickly answered by Hossa, and the Thrashers held them off easily to the end, against the desperation play of an empty net.

Next game:  Sat 10p est against the Vancouver Canucks.

Skywise is home and tomorrow is a busy day. Nite all and be safe. 

My boys still have the first place spot in the Southeast Division...

The Atlanta Thrashers were founded in 1999.  I've been a fan since 2000 (previously I was a St. Louis Blues fan, but over that first season, all I could watch was Altanta...and I grew to love them...and lost track of the Blues).  They have NEVER been to the playoffs, and missed the playoffs by just a a win and a tie (Tampa Bay had 92 points, Toronto and Atlanta tied at 90 (2 points for a win, 1 point for an overtime loss/tie, 0 for loss in regulation).  This year, unless something drastically goes wrong, the boys are on track for a Division Championship!  (Division-Conference-League, btw.)

Think this site god is a very happy man right now?

Yeah, they played "pond hockey". No squishing against boards, no action in the corners, no floor checking. Probably to reduce injuries in a game that does nothing for the team's or player's standings.

The Lord of Samhain picked today to get stuck in a tree. We got him down about 45 minutes ago after standing in the cold coaxing him for two hours. Skywise left for work late and my fingers are finally thawing out. And I still have my "prestorm" preparations to finish. I'll be in and out....
