Once I was a treasure to you.
A jewel in a resplendent crown.
Once I was a rose in your garden
Soft as a baby bird's down.
I was the mirror on the wall
that showed you your beauty daily.
Now I am the dried up bones
that bid the traveler beware.
I am the ruins of the forgotten city
whose treasures are now laid bare.
I am wilted,decayed and dying,
flower with no petal to spare.
I am the feather cast aside
falling from the air.
I am the mirror, broken and shattered,
for which no one now cares.
