What are you watching right now?

I'm watching my monitor! But MoonCat has been watching The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Spirit has been watching Star Wars -- all of them! -- on DVD!

Scrubs, but I'm half-ignoring it.  Not that I have anything against it - just could never get into it.

Ok, I have a good reason for bumping this, I promise...  Grin

PeeWee's Playhouse, one of the Xmas specials.  Cartoon Network is running all the severely twisted & hilarious Xmas episodes they can find.  Last night was the Moral Orel Xmas special (the pilot), and the Robot Chicken Xmas episode.  I have not laughed so hard in years.

Right now, I am watching my fingers as they type.  On the other hand, this last weekend I watched SUPERMAN: RETURNS.  All I can say is, "Oh the humanity!"  Needless to say, not very impressive.  The story and acting was a little on the weak side.  Why, the writers, settled on Lex(been there, done that)Luthor, is beyond me.  In this era of CG effects, I was hoping for a whole lot more.  Also, it jumped the shark, with the introduction of the son of Kal-El.  Only in the graphic novel series KINGDOM COME did Superman have a son, but it was with Wonder Woman.  My apologies to those who liked the film, but I was quite disappointed.  D.C. Comics needs to go back to the books for the basis of their films, and do right by their fans.

I'll admit that using Lex Luthor was rather "ho hum." His obsession with real estate is getting laughable. The Lex in the comics is more interesting both in his motivation and his long term goals.
I thought the movie got off to a slow start. I would have preferred for Kal-El to have returned in the middle of the crisis instead of before it started. As for a villian.... Brainiac would have been interesting. Superman returns to Earth and finds that Brainiac has taken over in his absence and has enslaved the human race. Even worse, because "the trains run on time, there is a ball game every night and gas is cheap" the majority of people don't care who is running things. Superman has to decide whether or not to interfere. People are happy, who is he to upset their apple carts? Unfortunately, an examination of the fact that most people would gladly trade freedom for personal security and a soft life is probably a heavier theme that either the scriptwriters, director or producers care to tackle  - assuming that they are able to do justice to it in the first place!  *sigh* For depth of thought, give me the printed word.
And as for Jason, Lois' son. As soon as he appeared calling Lois "mommy" and his age was revealed, I knew who his father was and it was obvious halfway through the movie. I just wondered if they would flat out admit it before it movie was over. They did and if they make any more sequels -- and it seems likely -- they will have to deal with it.
I have no problems with the casting and the action sequences were good. I particularly liked Superman's rescue of Lois and her family from Luthor's destroyed ship, saving them from drowning and then lifting the three of them clear as the rest of the ship fell away and sank. He saves them, they save him. That part was perfect.

I haven't seen the new Supes yet, but Doc was impressed.  Gotta admit, when they first started the commercials, it looked like they were trying to remake Christopher Reeve, but Doc said Routh nailed it.  Watching American Dad right now... *snicker* you wouldn't believe what they're doing to the President.

I am homesick today AGAIN and I am watching "Crime Scene" tv you know Cold Case files, American Justice etc between sleeping.

Anyone have any ideas what I can do to clear this up WITHOUT seeing a doctor?  I have a cough, mucas w/ some blood (I'm attributing this to my allergies when my throat kinda itches), fever has gone and I'm snottin like its goin out of style.  I can't seem to stomach solid food.  My boss has told me NOT to even think about coming in till this is gone.  I'm board......

If there is ANY blood involved, GET TO AN URGENT CARE IMMEDIATELY!  This can be a sign of a massive infection.  Do not hesitate.  I hope it is, merely, from coughing too hard, but, please, do not jepardize your health.  If you do not have that, you have nothing.  The only thing I can think of, over the counter, is Mucinex DM.  It is good for clearing out the mucus and quieting a cough.  Still, I advise seeking some sort of medical attention.  There are some drug stores with minute clinics, that are staffed by nurse practioners.  They take most insurances, and are not too expensive.  Hope this helps.  Post updates when you can.  Panacea be merciful!!!

The Swordsis knows what she is talking about. She's a Pharmacy Technician and the daughter of a nurse. Get thee to Urgent Care. They even have them in some Wal-Marts I hear.

Edited because I can't spell any better than DK!  Grin

Wayy too many hours editing the Castle, my Lord. When you are "typing at speed" your spelling, punctuation and grammar suffer greatly.

An hour ago, I was watching Moonlight. It's funny, scary and romantic. Next week looks to be a real hoot.("A teenage vampire looking to get lucky. A human that won't go away..") I think I've found a show to ease my "Angel" withdrawal. Smiley
What is it about hot guys with fangs... Smiley

I'm waiting to watch Smallville. "Everyone Loves Raymond" is currently on but I'm not paying attention to it. I haven't really liked situation comedies since M*A*S*H went off the air and that was hardly a "normal" comedy. I usually get my laughs from the funny bits in dramas. One of my favorites was an exchange between Special Agent Gibbs and Agent Todd (a now deceased character.) on NCIS.  She wondered what Doctor Mallard (played by David McCallum) looked like when he was younger. Gibbs replied: "Illya Kuryakin." Now that joke probably went over the heads of a lot of people but I got it.  Illya Kuryakin was a character played by David McCallum back in the 60s on a hit television show called The Man from UNCLE of which I was an ENORMOUS fan... Smiley
And I've managed to occupy myself for 20 minutes composing this post which puts me 10 minutes away from Smallville and yummy Tom Welling!

Watching Moonlight. This show keeps getting better and better. I hope that the Writer's Guild strike doesn't kill it.
