	Happy birthday, little one. I love you and I miss you so much. You would like Samson, I think. He's the prototype "curious cat" and he is full of "kitty beans." �You and he and Sebastian would have a ball playing "hide and seek and pounce" in the basement. And maybe you are, in the dead of night when we humans are asleep.... I like to think so. �

	Today makes it a year since we lost our beloved "little mountain lion." I still miss her. Sometimes, as I drift off to sleep, I can almost feel her laying across my chest, her little head resting against my jaw and her claws kneading my left shoulder just hard enough for me to feel it. I know that she is with Bast and Sebastian and that she loves us still but oh Gods, I miss her so much... � Good hunting, my little love.

	Happy 4th birthday, little girl. We miss you so much, little Scorpio cat. We know that you are around along with Sebastian and Maggie but I still miss watching you leap and having you lay on me as we both fall asleep. The Lord of Samhain likes to lay on me too but he has his own way. I'll be glad when I can finally see you. Good hunting, my little darling.

	It will be after midnight by the time this post is up. It's been two years since we lost our little Sassy. [The Lord of Samhain is standing next to the computer, pushing his forehead into mine as I try to type this. Now he's lying beside the mouse and he's purring as hard as he can.] Skywise and I walked out to the end of the driveway just before dark tonight (Sunday) to the spot where we found her, near our mailbox. I rarely go out to get the mail anymore. Spirit usually gets it now or Moonie. We know that you visit us, little one. Skywise heard you jump off of the dryer while he was up at the Guest House a couple of weeks ago. It is a comfort to know that you are still around, my little darling, but we still miss you. I miss the way we napped together. I miss the way you held your tail because of the kink in it. I miss how you would jump on me for a cuddle every time I went downstairs because the basement was "ours." I remember how huge your ears looked when you were a kitten, how tiny you were then and how very, very much you needed to love and be loved. I still love you, little girl. I still miss you. Be safe and good hunting..

	Happy 5th birthday, Sassy. We miss you. Life hasn't been 'normal' since you crossed over. The hole your loss put in our hearts is too big to close. The 'bleeding' has stopped but the wound is still there. Samson is with you now, instead of with us. I hope you are all having fun together. We miss you, all of you, so much. 	Three years ago today, the agony started and it has never stopped. Dulled, perhaps in the way that one can become accustomed to a constant level of pain, but never, ever completely gone. I miss you, Sassy. Sometimes, I'll see a flash of black out of the corner of my eye and I'll turn my head and see nothing. I know then that you, or one of your brothers, is here standing just beyond the Veil. It is a small comfort but it's all any of us have. I love you, Sassy. I miss you. Run free, Black Huntress. Hunt well. Live forever.

	Happy birthday, Sassy. You would be seven years old today if you had lived. You would be wise and beautiful and so very loving and loved. I miss you, my little darling and I think about you every day. I remember the tiny kitten who shivered in my hands and who dug her little claws into my coat when the lady at the PetsMart tried to take her back. "No," I said. "I'll keep her." And we paid the fees and took you home. We didn't get a carrier for you that day and it was bitterly cold so I took off my knit hat and we wrapped you in that to get you to the car. Once we were in the car and it was warm, you climbed out of my hat to explore, ending up snuggled in behind Skywise's neck while he drove us home. Yes, my little one, I remember you and I miss you every single day. Live forever, my precious little girlcat...... Happy birthday.

	Happy birthday, Sassy. Spirit marked your birthday on the kitchen calendar right along with mine and her own. I still miss you, little one. I miss the way you would lay on my chest and purr us both to sleep. I miss how you would run up to me and jump into my arms. I miss watching you stalk deer and I miss watching you run. Spirit misses you very much too. You were, I think, her favorite. Live forever, my little Huntress and much love on your birthday.

	Happy birthday, Sassy. Spirit marked your birthday on the kitchen calendar again this year. I think she misses you more than I do and I didn't think that was possible. The Warrior Princess reminds me of you, she likes to cuddle while I'm at the computer just like you did and she won't take anything off of the Queen, also like you. sigh I can't help but wonder what you would be like now, if you had lived.
