Getting back in the groove

A couple of years ago, I got sick of being overweight.  And also had gotten put on notice from my doctor that if I didn't get my cholesterol under control, I'd be at serious risk of heart disease.  So I started on a program of exercise and eating better, and lost 40 lbs.

This last summer, I moved.  All the good habits I'd developed got blown out of the water, and I started putting weight back on.  I'm mad at myself for letting it happen, and determined to turn things around again.  I've gotten back on my treadmill, and I WILL lose the weight before my wedding in October!!

Bob thinks I'm beautiful no matter how much I weigh, but I'm not happy with the way I look right now.  And I'm doing it for my health, too!

Welcome to the group, hon. I didn't get any Yoga in this week -- snarl! -- so I'm not expecting much. Of course, today I went tromping through the Children's Museum in a heavy storm coat and knee high snow boots that weigh over a pound apiece and carrying, of course, my purse which is so heavy it should be classed as a lethal weapon! Tomorrow, the scales will tell all!

I didn't get on the treadmill yesterday, because I feel like I'm coming down with a cold.  But I'm fighting it, and will be okay.

Grab you some zinc oxide from the supplement rack.  It will help you fight off the cold you are working on.

Same here, NW - Doc has always told me I'm beautiful... it's my own hang-ups that don't always allow me to believe him.  I'm trying to FINALLY get off my butt & actually do something about it.  Fortunately I have an energetic 8yo who's willing to do Pilates with me - she's been bugging me nightly about it!  Grin

My mom said I have lost weight since she last saw me at Thanksgiving (they drove down here) I kinda dont feel like I have.

For Christmas my boss gave me and the other paralegal a 3 month membership to the gym next our office to help inspire him to go.  Be glad you're not him.  He made a bet with this brother in law that is by August 1 they need to have lost 10% of their BMI, the loser pays for the other families vacation.  Each one of them has large families.

I'm finally getting over this respiratory crud.  My treadmill was folded up because Bob's stuff was piled out in the garage.  But we both got out there yesterday, to clean and organize stuff.  So now I have my treadmill up, and I can start motor-vatin'!

I did my weigh in this morning and I'll get it posted later after I get caught up. A Site Goddess's work is never done!  Even if all she is doing is helping the Tech God test stuff!  Grin

Well, I guess I'd better weigh myself tonight, and post the damage.  Maybe I'll be more consistent if I leave myself open to public accountability!

I did just over a half hour on the treadmill last night.  As of this morning, my weight is at 170.  (Which is where I swore I wouldn't be again, dammit!)

But I'll get the weight off again.... have to fit into that wedding dress!
