	We've been back for a while and I'm STILL seriously stuffed! We went to Fazoli's and I had the Meat Lasagna. It was good and filling and just spicy enough. It's a good thing I skipped lunch or I'd be feeling pretty guilty right now!

	I have an eye appointment this afternoon and by this time next week, I should have new glasses, Gods willing and my prescription doesn't take too long to make. Then, I should be able to read again!

Being prepared is key... interviewers can always tell how interested you really are by the questions you ask, your level of preparedness, and whether you bothered to do any research on the company before coming in to the interview. Job-searching is a tough thing nowadays.

	It has always been tough. There are always more qualified applicants for the really good jobs than there are "really good jobs." I've never seen a time when there was a genuine labor shortage.

Interviewing is getting harder all the time, on both sides. Some people interview REALLY well, their qualifications sound terrific... and then they turn out to be a terrible employee. Some people don't interview well, but have decent credentials, and turn out to be the kind of worker every company/manager wants. It can be kind of a crapshoot, really.

	Yes, sleep is nice. My youngest was out looking for the War Queen at about dawn and that sorta disrupted my sleep. I understand why she was doing it but still. And for the record, she went back to bed and is currently asleep.....

	We're back, safe and sound. I should have my new glasses in 7 to 10 days. They had a devil of a time finding my prescription in something already made up -- I don't want to think about what custom grinding would cost these days -- but they finally found it. They think that there might be disposable contacts available in my prescription. I'll check on that some other time. Oh, and the Darklord once asked me what my uncorrected eyesight was as I didn't know so I asked today. The doctor could only make a guess and that was 20/1000.... Fortunately, it can be corrected to 20/20. The downside for the moment is that as part of the exam I had my pupils dilated. And they still are so I'm going to do a couple of more things and then give the computer to the kids while I go lay down with my eye mask on and think "undilated" thoughts directed at my eyes. Skywise has already promised to get carry out pizza if I'm still too "wide eyed" to cook this evening.

	You getting Lasik? Oooooh.... Ouch, 20/1000? I have no idea what mine is either... I know it's not good (think: legally blind w/out glasses or contacts).

	No. I'm not a good candidate for Lasik because my eyesight isn't stable. I just keep getting more and more nearsighted. The only surgery that would help is corneal lens implant. It is like cataract surgery in that a corrective lens is placed inside the eye. The pluses are that it is reversible if the correction isn't quite right and if your prescription changes, new lenses can be put in. The downside is that it is a lot more expensive and, of course, insurance doesn't cover it.

	I'm back. My eyes are still dilated but they are beginning to go down. They aren't reactive to light yet so I'm sitting here pretty much in the dark. We went out to Pizza Hut for dinner since I figure it will be another 3 to 4 hours before my pupils start reacting to light. I've already committed to making pizza for dinner tomorrow....

	Puppy keep you up all night? The War Queen wanted to stay out all night. Because of what happened to Sassy and Sebastian, the girls -- especially Spirit -- want them in at night. So in order to calm her sister, MoonCat was calling the Queen every few minutes until about 4 a.m. when Skywise went out and brought her in. Then she and the Hearth Queen went out, apparently at 6 a.m. and at 8, Spirit was literally in her father's face telling him that they were outside. It is now 10:40, the girls are sleeping and we have given up on sleeping....

	She kept sounding like she was going to hack something up... She has kennel cough, but it really doesn't seem to be consistent... he said she was fine all day yesterday, they played outside and everything... and then last night I had to listen to that. Sleepy girl today. And I have to get on a plane in about 7 hours. Meh.
