	Skywise downloaded a "widget" on our "Dashboard" that does tarot readings. I just tested it. The results are interesting to say the least....

	Update on the never ending quest to join the 21st Century: Our local power company is running a pilot project to bring *Broadband over Power Lines* to country dwellers who would otherwise have to do without affordable high speed access. In this week's update, they reported that the 2nd Generation of the trial is underway and apparently going well. In the next few weeks, they will be meeting with the company providing the technology to discuss expanding it beyond the trial area. Since we are fairly close to the area being used for the trial, we are hoping to be among the first to get it. Time will tell and I'll keep you posted.

	I am SO keeping my fingers crossed for you on that! We broke down today and bought a new computer. Why, you ask? Because the power spikes down the internet cable seem to have nuked the frontside power circuit on the motherboard on the wimpy desktop--the one with the pitiful celery chip. What does all that mean? Well, simply put, you push the power button and the power light goes on, but NOTHING else does, so the power isn't getting as far as the hard drive or memory chips. Hence a new compy. Good news is, with the $300 mail-in rebates, it will end up costing very little, and the monitor (LCD) and printer (Cannon) end up being free. It has Vista (ICK!), but it seems I can slave the old XP drive in and not lose any data or profile info---very good news indeed! All in all, the old compy did well, it's nearly six years old, and I have been aggravated since we bought it at wallyworld for having such a wimpy chipset. Watch out 3-D games, here we come! 	LOL I'll bet! The demand for BPL out here is overwhelming since cable of any sort is unavailable and the other options are way too expensive for the majority of people who live in the power company's service area. So it really is in the interests of the REMC and the tech providers to get it up and working.

	Today was busy. Tomorrow will be busier but in a good way! Tomorrow is "Bump Day" at The Track and we're going to be leaving fairly early and probably won't be back until around 6 p.m. zoomzoomzoom...... For those of you unacquainted with Indiana in May, "The Track" is the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home of the Indianapolis 500. Tomorrow is the final day of qualifications, on which the slowest cars in the field are subject to being "bumped" out of the field by faster cars. It is also Armed Forces Day and all sorts of neat military equipment will be on display. So we will be looking at helicopters of various sorts, armored personnel carriers and such in addition to extremely fast moving race cars and men in kilts with bagpipes -- The Gordon Pipers... I promise I will wear my sunglasses, *earplugs* and plenty of sunscreen and I'll be back here tomorrow night. Everyone be safe.

	Getting lost in downtown Indy takes a bit of talent but I suppose I shouldn't talk. Skywise grew up in one of the near downtown neighborhoods and I worked downtown for 6 years so we both know it pretty well. We're back -- obviously! -- I'm a little pink in spots but not bad. I AM a bit dehydrated so I'm gonna go get something to drink. The day was successful. We watched lots of cars go ridiculously fast (220+ miles an hour!!), I handled a 9mm Beretta at one of the military displays and poked around a military ambulance, among other things.
