	� � Twelve years ago, in the early hours of May 10th, my beloved, feisty mother gave up her battle and entered into Spirit, returning to the arms of the Goddess and to those of the man whose widow she had been for nearly 40 years. No decision she made, no action that she took during that time was made or undertaken without her giving primary consideration to what affect it would have on me. For her devotion, I will always be grateful and I have done my best to follow her example. The song *You and me against the World* by Helen Reddy was �our� song, hers and mine. I reproduce the last lines here for her and for me. I love you, Mom, and I still miss you. We all do. And when one of us is gone, And one of us is left to carry on, Then remembering will have to do, Our memories alone will get us through Think about the days of me and you, Of you and me against the world.

	Happy birthday, Mom. You would be 88 years old if you were still on this side. Spirit saw the date on the computer early this afternoon and said "88 years old." I went to hug her then and she hugged me back and said. "I miss Grandma." You know the significance of her being able to do that. I hope that you can see how far our little girl has come. Be happy, Mom. I know that you are safe. I love you.

	Happy 89th birthday, Mom. We miss you, still, after all this time. I hope the little boycat that crossed over in September isn't getting into too much trouble over there although that might be asking too much! Give him and the others a good cuddle for us. If the Gods are kind, ascension will come soon and we will be together again. I love you. I know that you're safe.

	Happy Mother's Day, Mom. Mother's Day has been especially hard for us this year since today is also the anniversary of your death. Not a good combination, that. Still, I've managed to get through the day with only a few tears so that's good, I suppose. We miss you, Spirit especially, I think. As Skywise just said about today. "It was harder than hell." 	Something happened on Mom's birthday and I'm going to note it here. Since I was under the weather and Moonie decided to stay home with me, Skywise and Spirit went to Floral Gulch on their own. They were eating at Chick-fil-A in the mall when Skywise lifted his drink and offered a birthday toast to my mom. Spirit looked at him and said "Grandma says 'thank you.'" Being autistic, Spirit really "can't" make up stuff like this. So, did my mother whisper in her youngest granddaughter's ear, knowing that she would convey her thanks to Skywise? I don't know. Neither does he but we like to think that she did.....

	Happy birthday, Mom. Spirit remembered, not only that it is your birthday but also how old you'd be if you were here -- 91. It's cold today, typical for January, and it snowed some. Miss you, Mom. I know that you and Dad are doing well on the other side but there are days, a lot of them, when I wish I could call you "long distance," just to catch up. Maybe someday.... Happy birthday.
