	That's a good idea. We are likely to have several small children on the estate. All things being equal, I'm giving preference for the estate jobs to the applicants with families.

	While the two vampire sisters cooed over little Firefly, two unsuspecting police officers were responding to a call from the dayshift manager of a small, seedy bar in a rundown part of town. The man had arrived to find the back door to the establishment unlocked and open. Being a man of sense and entirely too familiar with life in that part of the city, he had not entered but had gone to a nearby business to call the police. The police officers, also being men of sense, entered through the open back door with guns drawn and they moved methodically through the back part of the building and found nothing out of the ordinary. Until they reached the front of the bar... The older of the two made it back outside before he vomited. His partner, who had experienced things that few mortals survived, remained behind staring at the slaughter. And it was a slaughter. Every man and woman in the place had been gruesomely murdered. All had been eviscerated and their entrails strung like decorations around the room. Blood was smeared on the walls where it hadn't spattered and pools of blood were everywhere. He went back outside and called for backup. And as soon as he discreetly could, he made another call....

	The sisters bade farewell to Firefly and were soon headed down the road. With any luck, they would finish in time for a "not too late" lunch before Penth had to get ready for the evening's business. She suspected that PD would be totally involved in working up her recommendations for the stable and not likely to be very interested in tending bar!
