Oh happy day.
Tornado Watch in effect for counties to the north and west of here. Since the cold front triggering this mess is sinking to the south and east, I expect that we'll be under the gun before the night is over. Skywise has the late shift and I HATE it when the weather is dangerous and we are separated. I hope that the front will be past us by the time he starts home.
It's gonna be a long night.

The storms are starting to build but the temps are in the high 60's, pretty cool compared to what it has been. I'm hopeful that things won't be as bad as they're predicting when it gets here. *fingers crossed*

Looks like the worst is over. Rained like the devil but nothing severe and no tornado warnings tonight for which I'm grateful. I'd like to stay reasonably relaxed tonight.

*snark* Oh happy day....

http://www.theindychannel.com/weather/23254506/detail.html

I'll update as I can. The radar to the south is all yellow and I might get knocked offline, either by the satellite going down or the power being out.

Looks like the storms will arrive in about 3 hours give or take. I've been explaining to Skywise that he isn't going to be cutting grass this weekend.
We'll likely end up in bed -- which isn't a bad thing but it won't get the grass under control.
Hayfield, here we come...

No rain yet this afternoon although more is predicted. The storm appears to have stalled farther south than originally predicted. To judge by the radar, Kentucky is having a miserable day.
Guess we'll just have to see although we appear to have lucked out, even if it IS cloudy and damp today.

The storms decided to delay "blowing up" until they were past here. They are now to the southeast and it didn't rain a drop. Which is good. We need to dry out a little more.

I can hear the thunder now and the line of storms is just moving into the northwest corner of the county. Here's hoping it will be over in an hour or so.

We had a brief intense storm move through right after I made the above post. Everything is clear and calm at the moment. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way.

I'm here -- on dial up -- just long enough to let everyone know that the storm has passed and we're wet as hell but okay.  I don't know how long it will take for the satellite to get back up to speed and I'll be here when it does. In case I don't make it back tonight -- more meteorological foolishness is headed this way -- everyone sleep well and be safe. Smiley Smiley
