Glad to know Nike got there ok!
*waving madly at Nike*
I will likely be in chat at some time while you are there, so maybe you and Penth can come chat with me one day!
I have been slacking here today...have to get the kiddo some white t-shirts for her rotc uniform, and get some stuff for the RoadMage, as well as tinker with some computer stuff.
I finally remembered what I was doing with mIRC the other day, so I reconfigured my setup so I can browse IRC servers while holding the Valcaria room open, so I have been playing with that some.
OH! My new phone came in, and some of the accessories to go with! So I now have a Treo 650 and the gear for GPS in the car!
Maybe I will go for a spin to someplace random! It has the TomTom software, so that's pretty cool.
I haven't posted about DragonCon either, but I still don't know what to say about it, since we didn't really SEE anything easily describable. I had a good time people-watching and stuff, but that is hard to really capture in text, LOL. We didn't go to any panels, concerts, contests, or the masquerade or parade. Makes it sound dull, but it wasn't!
Hmmm...what else.....
RoadMage is now a knitter! Yay! She wanted to learn, but had trouble with over controlling the yarn and needles, making the stitches way too tight for easy knitting. Well, I spent some time working with her on that, and she now has TWO projects going, a cotton washcloth, and her SECOND scarf!
So we are watching needles and yarn in eBay, and having fun with it!
The baby cat is fitting in to the family well, although the boys are still a bit annoyed with her mad bouncing around! She's grown quite a bit, and is now about three pounds, more or less, about four times bigger than when she came to us. Considering the boys are both over ten pounds each, she's still a tiny thing in comparison! No more worms, thank goodness, and none of the babies got an upset tummy from the meds either!
Well, I have the kiddo working in the yard today. It's part of her "penance" for losing the phone at Dragon, and her low midterm grades. She does feel bad about losing the phone, but the point is to be more responsible, or suffer consequences, the same with her grades. She still has trouble both in thinking ahead, and being aware of herself and her surroundings all the time. Well, we all had to learn how to do it too, she just seems to have trouble keeping her focus---blame the ADD. The rotc does seem to be helping, as the discipline always rubs off some to other things. And yet another new boyfriend is in the offing....at least she didn't go back to her ex, who dumped her on her birthday last year! It seems most of the boys she is hanging out with this year are saving themselves for marriage, so she has a better class of peer group influencing her this year. The new boyfriend is a good student too....A's and B's, skipped a grade a few years ago, etc. *sigh* All part of high school. LOL
Well, I guess that's it for now!
