	It is currently 63 degrees here. By this time tomorrow, it is supposed to be snowing.... Gotta love Indiana weather. At least the mega ice storm missed us....

	Right now, it is 50 degrees and rain. I keep seeing pictures from the "ice area" and buying an emergency generator from the REMC sounds better and better every time I see them. They have propane powered ones and there is a 1000 gallon tank right outside. Since we lose our water when the power goes out , that makes emergency planning more complicated.

	Greetings! It has been a busy day! Skywise has been adding stuff to the new computer -- updates of the maintenance programs and such and they take a while to download on dial-up. We also have the desk for the Command Center pretty much ready. I have a few holes to drill and a few corner brackets to attach and we will be good to go! Skywise wants to unpack my comp upstairs and configure it up here before taking it downstairs. His idea is to set the two iMacs side by side (more or less) and transfer everything from this one onto the "Command Computer." It sounds good to me! He dug into "networking" today and he's getting a pretty good idea of what we are going to need to hook up all three Macs. Earthlink has a "networking deal" but I don't know if he's gonna go with that or the "do it yourselves" option. First things first, we have to have all three machines in place and running right before we start networking them.

	The weather forecast has changed. Instead of snow tonight into tomorrow, we will have more rain. The way it is going, we will have a green Christmas -- as in the shade of the grass -- rather than a white one -- as in snow cover. I'm not sure how I feel about that. The mild temps mean that we use less gas to heat the house and, of course, travel is much easier. But snow cover is pretty and building snow men/forts/ massive monuments is fun. I think you need at least a little winter so that you can really appreciate spring when it comes.

	The Command Center is assembled! Again.. It is as finished as it is gonna get until we can stain and finish it. I even got some of the construction mess cleaned up! Now..... the laundry and dinner!

	The rain arrived a few hours ago and it should be out of here by noon. The temperature is holding at 39 degrees so we're in no danger from ice. We're supposed to get about half an inch tonight and it dawned on me a while ago that if all the rain we've gotten in the last few days was snow, we'd need a bulldozer to get out of here!

	We've been back for couple of hours and Skywise headed out to work about 30 minutes ago. Won't see him again until 3 a.m. Tomorrow is payday and wouldn't you know it, tomorrow he has the EARLY shift. That means he will get home at 3 a.m. and leave again at 1:30 p.m. We will have to roll out and move fast in the morning but at least we will all be together and that is what is important. Since he will be working the weekend and fully expects to work through [without a day off] to Christmas Day, we will take whatever togetherness we can get!

	Remember what I said about a "Green Christmas?" Forget it. The forecast for the weekend is calling for 4 to 8 inches of snow, wind and possible sleet/freezing rain. And, naturally, Skywise works both days. Grrrrrrrrr! Skywise has managed to add our favorite font to the list so that gripe about the word processing program is canceled. With luck -- and the cooperation of the Post Office and the Gods -- the Command Center will be operational by the end of the weekend. I've been puttering around today, getting things set up and cleaning the basement. The last big thing we need to get is a desk chair. I have a temporary chair in place that I can use until we can hit the office supply store.

	It looks like the absolute worst of the storm will come through Saturday night after Skywise gets home. Of course, he will then have to go to work on Sunday -- early shift -- and the stupid road is not likely to be plowed 'cause it WILL be Sunday when "no one goes to work." And with the wind gusting -- if the prediction is right -- to 30 mph some roads will drift closed as soon as they are plowed. He has the late shift on Monday -- so far -- so the county will have time to get the lead out of its collective posterior and get the roads cleared!

	...I HATE freezing rain. Especially when Skywise has to drive in it! And it looks like there will be more than originally predicted. On a side note: one of the nice things about having such a large screen is that I can have a word document open on one side, an internet window on the other and NOT have any overlap. Much easier to work on the Castle that way!

	The Post Office has gone from one extreme to another! Word came down from "On High" tonight that the budget for overtime had to be cut back. The long and the short of it is that instead of working both Saturday and Sunday, Skywise has both Saturday and Sunday off!! So intead of me sitting here tomorrow night and Sunday night worrying myself to death over his drive home, we will likely be indulging in naughty activities or recovering therefrom in preparation for further indulgence!! 	Skywise needs to tinker with the computer so I'm heading out. I'm making good progress on that last bit of writing for the Monster Hunt and, barring power failure or Skywise tying up the computer for some reason, I'll be putting in the new text tomorrow or Sunday! 	Things are quiet weatherwise at the moment but are expected to get lively later this evening. "Thundersnow" is NOT out of the question. Lovely. Oh well, at least Skywise is HOME and not on the roads and I'm quite pathetically grateful for that! He got the Time Machine up and running last night [RELAX! It is the name of a backup program that Apple is putting on the new Macs. hehehe] and once he gets a bit more research done -- specifically what he has to do to my comp so I can run my Windows astrology software on it -- we will be getting my computer configured and set up. Yeah, I have a lot of software that has come with my Llewellyn astrology books and I wanna use it! Just knowing someone's Sun/Moon combination can tell you loads about them and all you need for that is the birthdate. Once I get the hang of it, I expect that the astrology part of our little home will be a lot busier....
