	Morning all and Happy New Year's Eve!! It is clear and cold here today. No snow cover so it isn't as bright as it could be -- for which I am grateful. Wearing sunglasses in the house just feels *weird* even if it is necessary! Busy day ahead so I will be in and out. Everyone be safe today and especially tonight!

	I'm doing the "First Edit" on Castle posts from September through October, 2005. Hurricane Rita, my root canal and some people that disappeared without a trace from the thread and so have to be replaced. sigh Oh well. All those spaces emptied of real life will allow me to hint at what is to come in the novel. For one thing, a certain romantic warrior is gonna show up a lot earlier in the story! Heads back to do battle with a mostly* cooperative word doc. The real tussle hasn't started yet!!!*

	The Lord of Samhain, who is in my lap, and I want to wish you all a Happy New Year! This year has been rewarding and difficult for me. There is no need to recap it. Those who need to know do. So now I will look ahead to the new year with continuing hope and everlasting faith and I lift my glass in a toast: To absent friends! May the Gods bless you and keep you safe until They bring us together again! And may They grant that event comes quickly! Sleep well and be safe. 	We've been having a quiet and peaceful day. It has been snowing most of the day and it looks quite "Christmasy" and only a week late! The cats keep wanting to go outside until the door is opened and then they change their minds. Only to turn around and want out again five minutes later..... Cats. Can't live with them and their hides are too small to make rugs...... Kidding, of course!

	On my mind.... nothing I can talk about right now, except with Skywise. Maybe someday... Also on my mind: Dinner cooking and the klah powder I've just made up. Since it is mainly dark chocolate, sweet chocolate and instant coffee crystals I'm going to wait until morning to try it. It looks like it has the potential to have me vibrating like a tuning fork......

	Skywise is downstairs loading some computer games onto the Command Center computer. He doesn't need to be online to play them and he's discovered what I already know. It is a LOT easier to concentrate down there when "business as usual" is going on up here! So I'm topside at the "Research Station."

	Well, the New Year has begun in earnest. We ran errands this morning and Skywise is off to work -- late shift again. I'm still trying to remember where I put my wooden stakes * head scratch* It has been quite a while since I've needed them and I'd hate to have to cut more when I have all I need around here somewhere! Regardless, Skywise and I plan on a little "quick and dirty" surveying once the snow melts and it warms up a little. Which could be next week. It is in the low teens right now and the forecast calls for temps in the upper 50s by early next week. Until then, I'll fiddle with graph paper. Things are looking promising and we need to get cracking.

	Just finished watching the ABC Nightly News. The last story was about the "guilty pleasures" of the Democratic and Republican candidates for president. Chocolate of various sorts ranked high. My guilty pleasure? Ritter's Butter Pecan Ice Cream. For the record, Ritter's is small but highly popular ice cream chain here in Central Indiana. ALL of their flavors are to die for but their butter pecan is definitely "Food of the Gods..."

	I've finished the "First Edit" on another batch of Castle posts. Only 999 more to do. That character I need STILL is not cooperating with me. All I need right now is his name and I can wing it from there. I've got an idea of what his backstory is and I KNOW where he's gonna end up eventually. He just has a "walk on" in Book One but it is an important sequence and I can't leave it out. I might have to take "however long it takes" and go through my library of "name" books until I find it. I'm leaning towards him being Scots but that isn't set in stone. Names are extremely important and I've found that trying to write a character without knowing what their name is simply doesn't work, strange as that may sound. If the name hasn't materialized by the time I get to Post #1, I'll be hitting my name reference books in earnest!

	This is cool! I'm logged on here on both computers and no electronic nervous breakdowns are occurring! The reason why I'm upstairs instead of at the Command Center is that it is dinner time and I don't feel like carrying a plate of meat and veggies plus my tea down the stairs!

	We got back from town a while ago. I was so bad. I saw some yarn in an absolutely beautiful shade of hot pink so I got three skeins! sigh I don't know what I'm going to make with it yet but I'll think of something. I've got some silvery gray yarn that should go well with it. I'll have to see what pops into my little head...

	Afternoon. Yes. I slept in this morning and I'll admit to still being a bit groggy -- *need more caffeine!* -- but my eyes are more or less open and I'm functioning. Skywise has already left -- early shift -- so we should be able to go to bed at a reasonable hour. The late shift wouldn't be so bad if they didn't keep mixing it with the early shift. The bad news is that he has to work all weekend and won't have a day off until next Friday. Grrrrrr. sigh Oh well, in not too many months, he will be able to retire if he wants to do so. He doesn't plan on retiring early unless something comes up 'cause the Post Office has a very good retirement plan and the longer he works, the more we will get at the other end.
