Of this day, nothing needs to be said. It has all been said already. The dead are safe in the arms of the Gods. I offer this prayer for the living.

Hail Lady, full of grace, the God is with You.
          Blessed are You among women and blessed is the fruit of Your womb,  
the Consort and Champion.
            Holy Goddess, Mother of Earth, work the mystery    
                for Your children, now and in the hour of our need.
                   
          So mote it be.


Glory be to the Consort, to the Champion, to the Sage and to the Goddess.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,  
                spirit without end, magick with love.            
               
          So mote it be.


Blessed be the Name of the Goddess.
Blessed be the Name of the God.
Blessed be the Guardians of the Gates.
Blessed be those who follow the Old Ways.
May their numbers increase.
     
          So mote it be.

It's 9/11 here now, has been for nearly two hours. So much has changed in eight years but in some ways, nothing has. There are people, presumably well-meaning, who plan to spend the day planting trees, picking up trash and "giving back" in the "touchy-feelie" way so many employ in order to avoid what they don't want to face. Today is a day to remember, to grieve and to honor those who died. It is not a day to do things that make you feel good about yourself. Neither is it a day to exploit in order to push whatever personal or professional agenda you might have. To do so dishonors the dead. May they rest in peace.
