	Samson The Lord of Samhain The Seat Stealer The Little Sneak Gravy Boy Lifebringer June 16, 2006 - September 30, 2008 He sleeps in the lap of Bast and hunts with Sassy and Sebastian who were his parents in Spirit if not in fact. �The night is now his and nothing can touch him. He loved much and was much loved in return. �There are neither words enough or tears enough for this grief but there is the promise of reunion so we will hold to that and go on. Good hunting, my dear little boy, until Reality changes and we all together again. �May the Immortal Gods grant that it comes soon.

	Two years ago today, we brought Samson home. It�s a bit colder today than it was then. He was scared at first and hid under the couch but by the end of the day, he had laid claim to the whole house and yard. He owned it all and us as well. We were still mourning Sassy and in shock from Sebastian�s sudden death and Samson, with his sweet, friendly disposition and �talky� nature, helped us through that first lonely winter. �He didn�t replace Sassy and Seb. He made his own place in our hearts and lives but his presence made their loss a bit easier to bear. Now, he too, is gone. It has been a rough day. We love you, Sammie, and we miss you so much that there are no words, only tears. Hunt well, my dear little Lord of Samhain, until we meet again.

	Today would have been Samson's third birthday. The grief is still much too raw to say much beyond "Happy Birthday, Little Lordship. We love and miss you." We'll be having a special breakfast in the morning and probably a small memorial. The catnip is growing like a patch of weeds so there is plenty for offerings. Love you, Sammy boy. Always will. Hunt well and live forever until we meet again.

	Today's been hard. Real hard. It's been a year and the pain is only slightly dulled. I've been thinking about you all day, little boy, missing you, wishing you were here to play with the Prince of Midnight and the SunLord. I've about come to the conclusion that "happiness" that lasts for more than a few minutes is beyond my reach now, let alone sustained joy. My heart has been torn apart too many times, my spirit has too much scar tissue now for me to even imagine being happy for very long. I carry too much grief that I can't get rid of. When I wasn't thinking about you today, I was thinking about "outdoor cat enclosures" and I've been researching them. I'm seriously considering building one with the option to expand. Maybe that way, with Bast's blessing, your successors will escape your fate and live to old age. I love you, little boy, and I miss you more that words can express. Hunt well and live forever, Sammy. I will always love you.

	Happy birthday, Samson. Spirit just looked upward and wished you a happy 4th birthday. We miss you so much, little boy. You should be here playing with your little brothers, the SunLord and the Prince of Midnight and your big brother and sister, Sebastian and Sassy. But you aren't and I miss you every day. Hunt well, little one. Live forever....

	I'm a little late with this but only by a few hours. It's been two years now but it still feels like yesterday. Miss you, little boy, always and forever. So much to say and no way to say it. Bast bless and keep you until we meet again.

	Happy 5th birthday, Little Boy. I see your pictures dozens of times a day, Skywise put his favorites in the desktop rotation. The pain is easier to bear but, Mother of Gods, I still miss you. I miss your distinctive meow, I miss the way you would actually come when you were called, I miss... everything about you, my Little Lord. Perhaps someday, I can type these greetings without crying. Today is not that day. Happy birthday, Samson. May Bast bless and keep you until we meet again...
