Colts Kitty! The Soul of the House August 1, 1998 to January 12, 2009 She came to us a tiny kitten and left as the Matriarch of our feline pride. She took her leave of this life in the same manner that she lived it -- on her own terms. She died at approximately 10:35 a.m. this morning in MoonCat�s arms as we rushed her to the vet. �Bast was merciful. Her suffering was short and her end came quickly. �She rests now beside those who crossed before her. Sassy, Sebastian and Samson were her �foster kittens�. She raised them all and now she is with them. �She leaves MoonCat, who was her human, Spirit, Skywise, the War Queen, her foster sister, the SunLord, the last kitten she fostered and me. �We grieve and wait for the day of reunion. Run free! Hunt well! LIVE FOREVER!!! Until we meet again, dear one.

	Happy 11th birthday, Bunloaf. We miss you. I hope you heard Spirit wishing you a happy birthday. I like to think that you did. I saw Moonie heading for your grave. I think that you heard her too. The War Queen misses you most of all, I think. You were her sister, her companion and her foster mother. I hope that you are, in some way, able to comfort her in a way that I can not. Run free, hunt well and Live Forever, dear one, until we meet again.....

	Missing you right now, Hearth Queen. Skywise is watching the Colts game and he has your "official" Colts fleece blanket on the floor next to him, where you would be, watching the game with him and purring. The Colts won. Miss you, Hearth Queen.

	It's a day of mourning and remembrance today. At year ago at this time, we were rushing Mischief to the vet. It was already too late but we had to try. We miss you, Bunloaf, very much but the Little Prince of Midnight and your last fosterling, the SunLord have done their best to help us heal which is what you would want, we know. Run free! 	It's been two years. It doesn't seem like it has been that long. There is snow on the ground today. Two years ago, the ground was bare and mostly unfrozen. Winter didn't arrive until we had committed your body to the ground. The boys, between them, have taken up some of your habits. SunLord does the "tabby thing" just like you taught him but in his own style, of course. And the Prince of Midnight keeps trying to cache the leftover moist catfood if it is a flavor he particularly likes. Your sister-queen keeps on. She's slowing down a tad but she still keeps up her self appointed duties and doesn't let the boys get too cheeky. She is still a Queen but like us, there is a hole in her heart were you were. Until we meet again... Run free! Hunt well! Live forever!

	Happy 13th birthday, Bunloaf. We miss you but I must say that for the short time that you had him, you trained the SunLord well. He's a big, furry loveyboy until there is something that needs hunting, catching and killing. Then he's death on four feet. Just like you were. He doesn't understand why he and his little bro are watched so closely and don't enjoy the freedom the War Queen has but he's happy and that is the main thing. The Hearth is well guarded, Oh Great Queen. Rest well in the arms of Bast. Run free! Hunt well! Live forever!

	Three years ago today, the sun was shining, the air was warm, there was fresh catnip in the bed and we were digging your grave. A lot has changed in three years, the SunLord who was barely out of kittenhood when you left us is now a big handsome adult. The Prince, who was the first to renew our pride of cats after you passed, is approaching his third birthday and this year we have two beautiful little tabby girls with us who are proving themselves worthy heir to your mischief making ways. One thing hasn't changed though, not a bit. We still miss you, beloved Hearth Queen.
