Rage, the (rayj) n.  A condition found in Godkin descended from deities associated with war and/or battle in which anger steadily builds until it is uncontrollable. Persons in the grip of “the Rage” are nearly unstoppable in combat and depending on their skill level, unbeatable. They ignore pain, fatigue and thoughts of consequences until the Rage is purged by violent action.  Unlike the “berserk rage” of some devotees of War deities, a person experiencing “the Rage” can tell friend from foe and will not normally attack their allies. Samgara (sam-GAH-ra) n. The third planet of the SamSeb star system. Also known as SamSeb 3.

Samgaran (sam-GAH-ran) n. The standard language of humans on Samgara.

Santilya (san-TIL-ya) n. 1. A plant native to the Imperial Lake mountain region. 2. A fizzy, non intoxicating beverage made from the root of this plant. The base syrup for this beverage is a major export of the Amazon nation, particularly the city-state of Themyscira.  (Terran equivalent: root beer)

Sassarah (SAS-sa-rah) n. The larger of Samgara’s two moons. Diameter: 2,160 miles.  Mean distace from Samgara: 221,560 miles.  (See also: Magiah)

Secondmeal (second-meal) n. 1. The second meal of the day usually but not always taken near Highsun.

Selkalac (sel-KA-lac) n. 1.  A slave concubine.

Sho-du (sho-DU) n.  Gremlinese 1.  A vulgar term for the solid excrement of any species.

Standard Human Language n. An alternate name for Samgaran.

Tarikavah (tari-KA-vah) n. 1.  A group of individuals in which all members are handfasted to each other.  2. adj. A member of such a group.

Tarikaving (tari-KA-ving) v. 1. The act of joining a tarikavah through the Rite of Handfasting.

Thirdmeal (third-meal) n. 1. The third meal of the day usually but not always taken in the early evening.

Tubot (TOO-bot) n. 1. Vulgarism for the solid excrement of any species.

Valcaria (val-CAH-ree-ah) n. 1. Originally the name of the estate surrounding Keyholder’s Castle. Later applied to all the lands under the Keyholder’s jurisdiction.

Vampire, demon (VAM-pir, DEE-mon) n. Designation of the unDead who require the ingestion of humanoid blood for their continued existence. Demon vampires are infected with a parasitic demon at the time of Siring which drives out the victim’s soul which then passes into whatever afterlife is appropriate for it. The demon vampire reveals its nature when its facial features distort when preparing to feed. In addition to fangs, heavy ridges appear on above the eyes which turn sulfur yellow. Demon vampires feel nothing but contempt for true vampires and consider half-vampires nothing more than food.

Vampire, true (VAM-pir, troo) n. Designation for the unDead who require the ingestion of humanoid blood for their continued existence and who retain their human sensibilities and souls after being Sired. (see also; Vampire, demon)  True vampires have developed an underground society that they carefully maintain in order to ensure their survival and most true vampires adhere to the rules of their society. The city states of Madridoor and East Madridoor and the island of Madridoor are controlled by vampires. The human population believes that all vampires are half-vampires and they willingly participate in an organized blood donation in order to supply them with blood.

Vampire’s Kiss (VAM-pir’s kis) n. A state of prolonged orgasmic bliss produced in the donor by a vampire’s feeding when the donor is willing.  The Vampire’s Kiss can be addictive and responsible vampires and half vampires take pains not to addict their donors although it sometimes happens regardless.  The sensation is more intense for females than for males. If the donor is unwilling the resulting sensation is one of complete terror.
