	Moonie's gifts are "bagged" and the butter for the frosting for her cake is softening. It's still raining. The boycats want Skywise to take them for a walk regardless. Skywise doesn't feel like chasing cats through the woods in the rain so.. no walk. Which means they are lurking at the doors waiting for someone to go out so they can streak out as well. This makes getting out of and then back into the house, very difficult. Especially the "get back in" part. I'm going to get Chapter 4 up while I wait for the butter to soften....

	We're back and, since it's not raining at present, Skywise is taking all the cats out for a short expedition. And three weeks until our first vacation -- the short one -- and we're ready.

	Got some laundry done this afternoon and most of the dishes washed while I worked on Chapter 4. Got some work done on my spell database too. On the whole I managed a good balance of what I needed to do and what I wanted to do.

	Morning. Slept in this morning, the storm system that's been sitting and spinning over this part of the country all weekend is still there so it's dark and gloomy and rainy today. The Prince of Midnight was asleep on my lap until he heard Skywise bringing the trash cans back from the road. Then he jumped off and went to check out the kitchen. I think I'll do the same. Need tea! Later.

	Things got a little hectic earlier. Skywise was out in the woods with the boycats when they spotted a coyote. Everyone is safe and I'll be picking some extra ammo for the rifle in town tomorrow. Using a scope when you wear glasses is bad enough. Using a scope when you wear bifocals is a pain in the butt! So I need to practice. The kitty yard is going to have some anti-coyote modifications too...

	Afternoon! We ran to town, got some stuff, paid the electric bills and are now in for the day. Except Skywise of course, who will be leaving for work in about an hour and a half. I have pie making duty this afternoon, another Post Office retirement dinner tomorrow, so I'll be wrist deep in dough later. Right now, gonna get caught up and get the kitchen squared away for pie baking. Later.

	Just got done paying the propane bills. Ouchie! Of course, we likely won't see the gas man again until fall unless they decide to "top off" the tanks during the summer. Two books I ordered have shown up, I ordered one on the 25th and the other on the 21st. Can't beat that, now can you? �So I'm going to be reading some this afternoon and since it has dried out enough, I'll be taking a walk this afternoon too. Now, however, I'm hungry....

	Read. Walked. Did some research. Now I'm working on the kitty yard design. �I'm doing it two ways. One using 8 foot 2 x 4s and another using 12 foot 2 x 4s. The design using the 12 footers will require fewer uprights to support the structure and fewer deck blocks to support the uprights. �On the other hand, longer 2 x 4s will be harder to handle but we have some scaffolding in storage that we can use for this project. Definitely something to discuss with Skywise. The weather is warm(er) and it's time to get on this. Skywise was checking out the varmit gun last night. He's going to give it a thorough cleaning and get the scope set up for himself. Need to restock the ammo too if there is going to be target practice. I doubt with my eyes the way they are that I could use the rifle. I can sight a handgun just fine so I'll stick with that or a shotgun -- which we do not have and should. Yeah, that coyote has us unnerved and on alert....

	Dinner's over and Skywise is home. Punched up the bar brawl in Chapter 4. I think that's about done. The chapter is around 45 pages now so it's nearly completed as far as new material is concerned. That is a good thing. Right now, I'm going to call it a night. I'm going give Skywise a rundown on the kitty yard designs I'm working on and then head for bed. Everyone sleep well and be safe.
