ok the name of this stone comes from the Greek word augites which means brightness. This is in reguards to the bright luster this stone has.

The chemistry of this stone is Calcium Sodium Magnesium Iron Aluminum Silicate (Ca, Na)(Mg, Fe, Al)(Al, Si)2 O6 and is part of the pyroxene group. Also included in this group are the minerals hedenbergite, CaFeSi2 O6, and diopside , CaMgSi2 O6.when ions (in this case iron and magnesium) can freely substitute between each other. However augite contains percentages of sodium and aluminum that are mostly lacking in diopside and hedenbergite. The magnesium content is also larger in augite than in either of the other two minerals. The diopside-hedenbergite group is analogous to amphibole's tremolite- actinolite groups. The MOH's scale is 5 1/2 to 6. Sometimes this minerial can be found in lapis lazuli

This stone is associated with success, luck and fortune by helping be at the right place at the right time. this stone can also help you understand life changes with ease and spiritual knowledge as this is a stone of change and metampohosis.

vibrates to a number 9.
