	We're back. We went to vote first. We're very proud, Spirit voted for the first time today. She's been "helping" Skywise vote for years so the machines weren't completely strange to her and Skywise was able to assist her after filling out a form. Spirit did it all herself, she just needed a little help with the candidates that were running unopposed and to push the right buttons to turn the pages and confirm her vote. THEN, we drove ten miles to the next town where we usually eat lunch, which we did, and then we did a little shopping. We ended up at Wal-Mart and Moonie decided that she was going to get a flu shot. This year, Wal-Mart and the drug stores have been having daily walk in shots clinics which really cuts down on the crowds. Anyway, Moonie decided she was going to get a shot. Spirit heard her say so over the radio and then decided that SHE had to have a shot. Skywise and I gave up and got ours too so that chore is done for the year. I am now going to get tea and chocolate before I start being useful! Post # 16,555

	I've just finished working on some documentation for Sanctuary. Might never need it but I have it. I still have some work to do but I'm going to quit for a while, maybe for the night. The eyes, they are NOT happy! And, I'll have to be starting dinner soon. So I'm going to rest my eyes and play around with my homemade mad scientist kit. I got a LOT of unshielded copper wire today. Enough to keep me busy for quite a while. STILL need to hit Radio Shack and either Hobby Town or Michaels for a few things, then I'll be good to go with the mad scientist thing.....

	It looks like the Democrats had their heads handed to them tonight. This is a good thing. Being reminded of who is in charge is always good for a politician of any party. I'm not all that thrilled with the Republicans, truth be told, but with them back in a stronger position perhaps we will see some compromises instead of the "our way or the highway" style of governance we've had the last two years. A multi-party system might be messy but it forces compromise and no one gets things all their own way all the time. Which IS a good thing.

	The checks are written and ready to go. Skywise will take them to work with him and he'll see that they get put in the right bin. I got the image file sorted finally so that small bit of housekeeping is finished. Breakfast has worn off and I'm now looking for lunch...

	What's happening is that the satellite is down. It's probably upper atmospheric conditions but I can't be sure. All I do know for sure is that while I can get through to my HughesNet control panel, I can't get anything else. �Right now, I'm on the downstairs computer using the dial-up connection. I don't know when the satellite will be back up so I'm going to say goodnight now, just in case. Everyone sleep well and be safe and I'll see you tomorrow, hopefully! Post # 16,565

	Morning! We've had an abrupt change of plans. One of the supervisors fell ill at work yesterday and Skywise had to cover part of the man's shift and his schedule was changed so he'll be covering it today too. Which means instead of leaving at 5, he'll be leaving at 1:30. At least he'll be home early tonight. Now, I need some tea and a bite to eat. Later.

	Skywise left about 20 minutes ago. He's not happy. He'd promised Spirit that we'd go to Floral Gulch today so she could have Chick-fil-A for lunch. Needless to say, we didn't go, she's disappointed and doesn't quite understand the change in plans. As for me, I'm gonna have to go to "Plan B" for the day...

	I managed to get some odds and ends done, worked on the equipment I need for my experiments and dug out my HTML manual -- need to start studying. I'll be starting dinner in about an hour. Skywise "should" be home by midnight so I need to start dinner sooner than I have been on Thursdays. Right now, the YaHoo is on and I'm waiting for Nike to arrive.

	Morning! We ran off to town first thing, needed a couple of things, and now we're back. It's chilly this morning -- I had to get out my late fall/early winter coat this morning -- and partly cloudy. 	I've been hard at work taking care of some things so I can settle down and work on Book 3 this coming week without worrying. I may even start tonight since Nike is out of town and I'll be a loose ends tonight after Smallville. Right now, I need to give some thought to dinner.

	I seem to have turned into Wolverine.... A few minutes ago, I was taking cans of Coke out of the box and putting them in the refrigerator. I reached down, hit the side of a can with my "not even out to the end of my thumb" thumbnail and punctured the can -- a neat little slit about a quarter of an inch long! I have notoriously weak fingernails -- they peel and break at the slightest provocation -- so this REALLY comes under the heading of a freak occurrence...
