natural goldstone is aka aventurine quartz. which is an aventurine with natural copper flecks in it. this gives it a yellow-brown color. also do not confuse with aventurine glass.

It was first created in by monks in an attempt to create gold. initially it was sold as a natural minerial. and China soon discovered how to make it and now makes some of the best varieties of it. Since it was created by monks it is sometimes used in some religious jewelry.

sometimes it is often confused or passed off as sunstone which the red variety closely resembles.
