	Got to talk to J on the phone for a bit last night. He's aggravated. Between the car up there being broke down and not knowing for sure when they'll be leaving, and a situation that his cousin and her girlfriend are going through that's making life up there miserable, he's just about ready to scream. So we talked for a bit, and it was so, so good to hear his voice.

	Morning and Happy Independence Day! It's gloomy at the moment and light sprinkles keep moving through the area. It doesn't look like anything of sufficient magnitude to wash out the fireworks so we are still a "GO!" for this evening.

	Exactly!! We may watch the fireworks from Boston on PBS tonight, they always have an awesome show!!! Much better than the fireworks from Ottawa, and that's saying something... Ottawa probably has one of the best Canada Day firework shows in all of Canada... (Sorry Ottawa!!)

	The local show is usually pretty good and the main line of rain has moved WAY out so things should be dried out by showtime. The only drawback is since (Damned) Daylight Savings Time is in effect, it won't be dark enough for the show to start until about 10 pm which means I likely won't be back here tonight much before midnight.

	He is missing me just as much as I miss him Good because it means he loves me. Bad because it means we're not together. Hopefully by the end of this week, though. And then we'll be locked away for awhile. Ya'll may not hear from me for a bit once he gets home

	We're going to be leaving shortly, in fact I've already got my beltbag on. Yes, I'll have my belt bag and my backpack with my 3-D cell maglite in it and that's it. The "purse from Hell" is staying home! No way am I toting that monster on our yearly reenactment of the Bataan Death March! [A word of explanation: Skywise likes to get out of town fast once the fireworks are over, so he parks blocks from the park and we walk, hauling our comfy folding chairs and anything else we take. Then we get to haul it all back to the van in the dark (only the main streets in town have streetlights and we park on a sidestreet.) so I travel as lightly as I can!] It shouldn't be TOO bad tonight. It's currently 83 degrees which is a lot better than it has been some years! Spirit is out the door. THAT is a hint. I'll be back around midnight. DON'T blow the place up while I'm gone!!

	We're back! The fireworks display was shorter than in previous years, probably because of a.) financial constraints and b.) thanks to (DAMNED) DST, the show couldn't start until 10 pm and tomorrow is a work day sooo.. the City Fathers gave us a 45 minute show instead of an hour plus. And.... I nobly refrained from doing murder.. We were hiking back to the van in the dark when some hit me in back of my left heel with his stroller, nearly pulling off my shoe in the process. This put an unacceptable amount of strain on my left leg (the bad one, naturally) which resulted in my having to walk five blocks in the dark when I could barely put my weight on the leg. Right now, my entire knee area is burning and the leg hurts from hip to ankle. As soon as I can manage to get to the kitchen, there is ice cream and aspirin in my future... The didn't even say "excuse me."

	Hi everyone!! It's another hot, sunny and humid day here today. The guys will be heading up town to do some shopping shortly so I'll be fighting with UT #7 while they're gone.... I really REALLY thought about one part of the manuscript this morning and I think I found the direction I want to take with the discussion between the main characters at that point... Plus a solid dose of my favorite Canadian actor first thing this morning kinda helped the creativity too... I am around though, in case anyone needs me.
