*GIGGLE* I'm surprised our neighborhood dogs didn't go nuts when everyone was setting off fireworks or whoever it was had their electric guitar and amp CRANKED UP... Feedback and everything! YIKES!!

I'm home today too... Hubby works this evening but other than that, it's a quiet day at home here. Well, as quiet as it can be with an overactive 7 year old and insane cats that is!! Grin

So the Windows partition on my computer puked.  And then ate itself.  It's gone.  Completely.  Along with all the files that were on it... oh yay...

Luckily, the hubs let me install a Windows partition on his computer so I can continue to work.  But I'm going to start working on things that don't require Windows this year, 'cuz I hate Windows.  A LOT.

Spent New Years Eve night with my hubs and my son.  Got my kiss at midnight Smiley

We're doing better.  We had a huge fight Friday, with his normal temper flare, lots of screaming and threats on his part, and then the realization on his part that that's not what he wants for his life or our marriage, and him breaking down and asking me to help him find a psychiatrist who will work with us.
  
~Quantum frying pans fit anywhere - this is a lesson I'm am repeatedly put through.~&&~There are no surprises in life.  Just us closing our eyes to reality.~

Skywise took the Queen and the Prince outside -- SunLord stayed in, he doesn't like the wind any more than I do -- and the Prince discovered that the catnip is still growing, slowly, and is fresh and green. He promptly availed himself of it and is currently higher than a kite. Skywise is keeping an eye on him!  Her Majesty had a more conservative helping and is now in the house sleeping in off. The kits went out for a bit but Skywise stuffed them back in the house when he saw that the Warrior Princess was starting to shiver! They are currently resting up for their next rampage through the house....

All the cats are back inside and Skywise has gone up to the Guest House to do arcane things with the computer up there. The kits are both awake and on the rampage while I'm working my way through the chaos that is my kitchen.
And I probably should take a moment to change out of my night clothes....

I'm slowly working my way through the disaster that's mine... I've been dressed since I crawled out of bed, habit. I got caught sneaking downstairs in my robe and nightie one too many times at 7 a.m. if Nanny had company that early! So I got into the habit of getting dressed the instant I get up for the day. I'm still in the habit of doing it even though I moved out of Nanny's NINE YEARS ago this month! LOL

This morning I just pulled a pair of sweatpants on under my nightshirt since I was reasonably sure that there was no one in the house but us and besides, it was Sunday morning and I was feeling all warm and cosy in it. I'm now out of my nightshirt and into an equally comfy sweatshirt.

And your opinion of housework mirrors my own!

I'm wearing two polar fleece sweaters over my tshirt... Nice and warm, I love polar fleece this time of year!

Speaking of polar fleece, my MIL gave me an adorable cat print polar fleece throw for Christmas....I'll probably be using that at the computer if my feet and legs start freezing during the rest of the winter. I'm just hoping the rest of the winter here goes like did yesterday, but without the rain! I'm talking temps in the high 40s, low 50s... But since I do live in Canada, it's best to be prepared for some wild and cold weather during the wintertime, even this far south in the country. We're not called "The Great White North" for nothing!! Grin

According to the news channel I usually use, the wind is blowing at a steady 26 miles per hour. (That's 42 KPH, VE. Wind chill is -1C.) And I can hear things (small pieces of tree) hitting the roof.  This foolishness is supposed to go on all evening. No wonder I'm jumpy. 



If I didn't have to fix dinner, hiding in the basement would be an attractive option....

That stinks about your computer, AR. I've never used Windows but Skywise has (that's what the Post Office uses) and he hates it with a cold passion and I suspect that a "Windows only" machine will find it's way into this house over his cold, dead body!

On the other hand, it's good that J has realized that he needs help and has asked for help in getting it.  Some people never get to that point. Smiley
