I've been working on the makeup table. I've gotten one of the light fixtures mounted just enough to let me know that the "easy" way I was going to use to secure the wires isn't going to work. Looks like it is gonna be some form of "Plan B." Curse the luck. I've quit for the night. Dinner needs making.

Tough cookies to the Prince... He pulled off a disappearing act yesterday so it's only fair he isn't allowed to do it today before y'all head into town! LOL He's a sweetheart though!

I'm now rereading/editing the part where I had 86'ed a lot of stuff the other day and the story IS flowing a LOT better without all that stuff weighing it down. It looks like I got out all the references to that one "subplot" I was going to have but removed, so that's all good.

Back to it before Hubby gets home!

I'm done the reread/edit... I had to make some changes on driving times to and from various places in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick BUT so far so good. The story seems to be flowing pretty smoothly and a lot better now that I have everything edited, etc. I'm now thinking of what should be in the next couple of chapters... I do know a few of the things that will be in there, in the gap between where I left off in the main manuscript and the (combined/spliced) MCEWCA file, but not all of it. That's something I have to figure out sometime soon, while bouncing around ideas for the MMG file/part and the latter part of the story. I already have some ideas for those areas but not as much as I would like to have!  Smiley

I'd start writing up a scene now but I have only an hour until Son gets home... I do have a couple of hours coming up on Thursday and I have all day Friday! Cheesy

UGH, we have a LOT of iron in our water and even with the conditioner, I still have to scrub the residue from it out of the toilet, bathtub, etc once in a while. I completely understand Penth!

Ours is all calcium deposits and, in the dishwasher, undissolved dishwasher detergent. It's not that hard to chip out ONCE you get to it.

I've been downstairs working on the makeup table. I decided to see if I had enough 3/4 inch square "dowel" to trim it. I do and after much sawing, fitting, measuring and more sawing, I have it all cut and laid in place. I haven't glued anything down yet. His Majesty, the SunLord, seems to think that I'm building that table for the sole purpose of displaying his handsome self. Trying to fit pieces of trim together seamlessly with a large purring tomcat getting his tail in your face is bad enough without adding glue to the mix! I "might" get some of the pieces glued up tonight but tomorrow is more likely. His Lordship will be out walking with Skywise and I'll be able to work without ANY furry supervisors around!

Well, I managed to get some of the trim glued on before SunLord realized that I was downstairs so I've made progress on that front. I'm going to have to revise my estimate of my completion time on this project, however. I was fooling around with the leftover 3/4 inch square dowel, had an idea, tried it and it looks great! So I'm going to get more and put it on the exposed edges of the plywood sides. I was wondering how much wood filler it was going to take to hide the "plywood" look and now I don't have to worry about that. Now the only edge that will be visible when it is completed is an approximately one foot section in the front that isn't currently covered by the table skirt. That may change or I may spring for some narrow edging trim... Smiley
Then I came upstairs and found the Warrior Princess asleep in my chair, so I've been doing dishes and such. LOL
