The makeup table back was turned over, primed and now has a lovely coat of black semi-gloss on it. I've started putting the edging on the side pieces and the top of the table is ready to paint. That process will probably start Monday since the back will get its second coat tomorrow after the race is over. The "test" piece for the wardrobe painting came out perfect. There are some brush marks visible but those don't bother me since it IS paint we're talking about here! I'm going to use the test piece for one more test concerning the design I want to put on the doors and I have an alternative if it doesn't work so it is "all systems go" on wardrobe painting! Morning everyone.

I've been in for a bit but have been going nuts trying to get caught up with things.

Hubby works until 3 my time, Son is playing on his console and I'll be around while CLEANING!!  Smiley I'm also wanting to work on #7 again today but I have to be careful if Son's home... C12 isn't exactly fit for "little nosy rabbits" to see!! Cheesy

I'm here for a few hours anyway... I need another coffee.......

If anyone hears a LOUD blast of heavy metal music and a little guy singing while he drums along, it's coming from my house... I have to have music playing while I'm digging deep into the "unearthing the kitchen from the TOYS" mode............. Cheesy

The race is over. It was hot, fast and exciting.
I am bushed and my body is not happy with being parked on the floor in front of the audio setup for the last three hours. I gotta change the setup before next year! At least dinner is progressing nicely and as soon as the broadcast is over, I'm gonna go up to the Guest House and put the second coat on the makeup table back. After that, I'm gonna collapse for a little while at least!

Audio taping is done.
Painting of make-up table back is done.
Video taping of the race will begin at 7 pm EDT
Need to get at least one load of laundry done -- will start that next.
Dinner on track to be ready between 6 and 7. I'm hoping to have it ready before the delayed broadcast starts.
And somewhere along the line, I REALLY need to collapse. Smiley

Supper is out of the way here... I'm ALMOST ready for morning, I just have to fill out Son's communication folder and finish packing his lunch.

Speaking of school, I have a transition meeting tomorrow afternoon with his teachers. I'll be gone for a couple of hours at least because I may have to run a few errands after the meeting... Unless Hubby is sweet enough to do it for me in the morning so I can WRITE for a bit before getting ready for it....... Hmm..........

Dinner is over and I feel much better than I did a couple of hours ago. Skipping both breakfast and lunch is not good for me and by the time I had the race recorded and the "MUST DO IMMEDIATELY!" things on my To Do list done, it was nearly 5 and I said: The "heck" with it and decided to push through until dinner. I am now going to relax and do something that isn't "must do!"

Afternoon!

I can finally sit down! I've already taken the table top up to the Guest House and put the primer on. First coat of paint goes on at 5. The back is still up there because when I got it off of the sawhorses, I  discovered that a.) I had missed a few hard to reach/see spots and b.) the paint, despite curing for nearly 24 hours was still tacky enough to stick to the sawhorse it was resting on and now there is a "dotted" line across the back where the stuck paint stayed on the sawhorse. *snark!* So when I go up to start painting the top, I'll take the touch up brush with me and get those spots fixed. We'll get it hauled down here tomorrow or Wednesday. THAT is why I have been painting the backs of things first.

I've figured out "most" of what I want to do with the table skirt and I may start on that today. The problem has been figuring out how to attach it to the table so I can take it off when I need to wash it. The problem with using tacks is that eventually the tacks don't hold in their original holes and you have to move them and after a while, the whole edge supporting the skirt is full of tack holes. I've got a couple of ideas to try and I'll see what one works best.

Right now, though, I have tea and I need to get something of the food persuasion as soon as WP gets off my lap!

I think I'm going to have to revise my estimate of when I'm going to have the makeup table finished. The paint is dry to the touch/dry to handle in the time specified on the can but it feels "tacky" to the touch for several days to a week after it's dry. I'm hoping that the drop in the temperature/humidity that we are expecting will help but now I'm not expecting painting on the makeup table being done before the middle of next week. *sigh*
