	If they can protect the existing IPs from further adulterating by George, then we are good. The idea they will "Disney-fy" it is preposterous. They've not disney-fied anything from Marvel, have they?

	No, they haven't. Which is the only reason I haven't put on mourning over this sale. I'm striving to remain hopeful while reserving judgement until I see some ideas/product.

	If they Disney-fy Star Wars, I'll shoot someone, preferably whoever does it! I don't think they'd be that stupid though, they'd have a riot on their hands and they know it..........

	The latest news.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-20288810 No definite casting choices yet. Hopefully, they will go with talented relative or total unknowns for the starring roles. Some of the casting "suggestions" I've seen make me cringe....

	WOOT, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher may appear in it, as may Harrison Ford!!! I would love to see them back in their old roles, that would make the new movie in my mind!!

	Probably. From what Hubby said there are so many rumors about what the storyline will be about, it's unreal. He said they may not use one of the books from MANY series out there but who knows, right? I'll be keeping the eyes and ears open for an actual update from the company itself on what Epi VII will be. We all had an idea of what would happen during the "Prequels" (Anakin becoming Vader) but the "Sequels" could be almost anything!

	As I understand it, apparently, there was a specific time period after the original trilogy which Lucas kept off-limits to the Expanded Universe (at least for a while) which VII, VIII, & IX cover. So, it could be they fit in well. Of course, we've seen horrid retconning in the original trilogy as well as with the Expanded Universe vs. Video (the history of the Mandalorians anyone?), so it could be anything.

	Undoubtedly but I never considered the Expanded Universe to be "set in stone" canon. And let's face it, there are some things..cough cough Vong cough cough that the SW Universe is better off without. Personally, the Expanded Universe lost a lot of its appeal when they killed off Chewbacca, followed by Anakin Solo, Mara Jade and finally Jacen Solo. I am finding the new novels set before "The Return of the Jedi" interesting through.

	One of my favorite books of all time is one that came out between the time Episode IV and V... "Splinter of the Mind's Eye". I can read that book over and over again, I have a copy of it, thanks to Hubby. I have a few that were set before ROTJ that came out recently - "Scoundrels" is one of them - but haven't sat down and actually read them yet. I should.... SHEEPISH GRIN If they're half as good as SOTME, they're going to be awesome. Yeah, the Vong storyline - EW. I was "TICKED" (understatement!!!) when they killed off Chewie. He was one of my favorite characters and seeing him die was like losing a family member! I really liked the original Thrawn trilogy. Thrawn was an Imperial one could like and respect even if he was nasty by times. Then again, I do love Timothy Zahn's writing, he's one of the best in the entire EU....

	I still have my original copy of Splinter of the Mind's Eye. It's one of my favorites too. "Scoundrels" is in my read pile too. I haven't read it yet because frankly, right now I can't see worth a "darn" and until I get new glasses reading for pleasure for more than a couple of minutes ain't happening. Since the state taxes have been paid, the septic tank pumped out and paid for and we know how much the property taxes are, I told Skywise that NOW would be a good time to make an appointment for me with his ophthalmologist. I haven't seen one in more than a decade and as nearsighted as I am I really shouldn't go that long without an exam complete with pupil dilation. Once I have new glasses and have gotten used to them, I'll be making up for lost time in the "reading for pleasure" department!

	My copy of it was one that Hubby had from the time it came out and he gave it to me because I loved it so much... And I'm the bigger SW fan between us. I just haven't been reading much period even with the updated prescription. I've been writing a lot, and sometimes reading other people's stuff - even stuff that's NOT in my genre - will mess me up big time. SIGH I'll be going to the optometrist again in about a year from now for another checkup... I have astigmatism and am supposed to go in about every 2 years. Even my family doc said that. He'll bawl me out if I don't go in when I'm supposed to, and boy he's scary when he bawls someone out! The fact I can get glasses at a freaking decent price now (online) doesn't make it quite so expensive to go every couple of years if I need a stronger prescription....

	Since I can't have just anyone make my glasses now thanks to my super-strong prescription, it's gonna be expensive. sigh At least Skywise and the girls can get their glasses at a reasonable price.

	That stinks. I guess I'm lucky that even with the astigmatism (and needing bifocals sometime soon) I can still get the glasses made online for now. I'm considering digging out the original Thrawn trilogy sometime soon, just for a reread... Maybe after I'm done this new manuscript.
