I wish the house smelled like chocolate...  mine smells like pizza!  The oldest was kind enough to pick up a couple from the store (fresh bake your own) so we wouldn't have to worry about getting supper together.  The Bloke has one night shift so slept most of the day.  Have the carrots ($2 for 5 lbs.. how can you go wrong?) and have picked up both evaporated milk and coconut milk.  I may try to make one for MIL (she has a milk allergy).  Carrot makes a great substitute or extender for pumpkin or other squash.  And any fresh squash here right now is $1.28 lb  Huh  A can of pumpkin is $3.50...  You just put the carrots through the blender after they're cooked to make them smooth.  I'm going to steam them instead of boiling so that they retain more nutrients and their colour Smiley The pie is very nice! 

Then we'll be making a few different types of cupcakes.  I've got some pans that are non-stick shapes.   Decorative without extra sugar.  They also store and travel well Smiley 

Brownies are so tempting!  I wonder how they would do in my mini cupcake tin to make one bites? Would probably need to cut the baking time by at least a third?  Maybe half?  I've always liked them with a little cream cheese... 

This person who's talking about your Mom must be either very brave and/or stupid.

There's no reason why you couldn't make "mini-brownies" you'd just have to cut the baking time way back. I test my brownies with the "toothpick in the center" test. I'd start checking minis after about 5 minutes.

My house will be smelling like pizza later. Mondays and Thursdays are pizza nights....

They processed one and a half million pieces of mail tonight and some of the trucks were late. Smiley But, as he said, "one more night to go...."

It's been crazy here again this morning... Yesterday was nuts and I'm expecting things to be even more so today. I just hope that stupid phone isn't ringing off the hook like it was yesterday!!!

It's wrap the remaining gifts, get whatever prep for tomorrow that I can do today out of the way and repeatedly peel my son off of the ceiling. He's been bouncing since last night, and I have my hands full right now!!

Santa has been seen in New Zealand and parts of eastern Russia according to Norad's FB page...Son didn't see that, thank the gods, so maybe I won't have to yank him down just yet....

Hubby went up town to run a couple of last minute errands and I'll be attacking the wrapping shortly. I want another coffee before I do a damn thing!!!  Smiley

We're back. It wasn't terribly insane in town. Just about everyone is at work right now. The Walmart will close at 8 tonight so I suspect that starting about 4 pm, things will start getting nuts. We, however, will not be there and hopefully, things won't be too crazy at the Post Office so Skywise can get home before sunrise! I've gotten the cookie dough out of the fridge and tonight's dinner and tomorrow's dinner in there thawing. So far, so good....

Focaccia dough rising and I'm praying the solution to the "batteries are too short for the charger" works... My camera uses AAA batteries and apparently the stupid charger was made for AA and larger. *SIGH*
