Paid some bills, did some cleaning and unloaded a set of shelves downstairs that I'm going to have to move so I can put the new storage unit in its place. Before I can move the empty shelf unit, I have to clear out a place to put it. I know where I want to put it but getting in there and making room is gonna be a job. *sigh* I will EVENTUALLY have everything moved to its final location and then I can really start pitching stuff but right now the stuff I'm dealing with is not stuff that needs to be thrown out. It just needs to be cleaned, organized and put away. *more sigh* I'll get to the end of it eventually....

We went in and paid the mortgage and the electric bills.  I got some stuff for boffer sword making and a new archery target. My old one is pretty beat up. I foresee some target practice in my future....

We've been having connection problems tonight. On both systems no less. If I didn't know better, I'd say Mercury was still retro....

Skywise is home and I'm heading out to crash.

Dinner's cooking. The predicted "severe" weather didn't amount to much, at least not around here for which I'm grateful. I don't feel like playing "Duck and cover" tonight. I hope that Skywise gets home at a reasonable time, I'm already yawning.

Why am I here this early?

We just got back from town. We had lunch and stopped at Rural King where I got more PVC pipe. The improvised drain I put in the window well needs to be improved and as soon as this cool/cold front goes through and the humidity drops, I'm going to get to work on that. I "may" need to get another section of pipe for it. I'll just have to see.
Right now, I'm just gonna cool off! It's miserable out there!

The storm is west of town and heading southeast. If it doesn't expand, it will miss us.

Time for me to head out.

Slept in today for the first time in a few weeks!  It's been busy around here trying to get house work, yard work and home improvements done.   The most annoying thing I'm dealing with right now is mice... I hate mice and we can't have a cat because the eldest's allergies are that bad    It's like insult to injury....  I wish they would hurry up with that cat dandruff vaccine!

Today we will be going over the foundation with a fine tooth comb, steel wool and caulking, tomorrow it will be windows and doors, screening and weather stripping.  The roof will be done this coming weekend so there will be new caps on the chimney and the stack.  Any opening at least the size of a pencil  needs to be blocked, screened or caulked.  I love my son but  I really do look forward to the day I can have a cat again!

We had a Queen named Puss who was our house cat on the farm growing up.  She liked to bring  things into the house to "play with" which included birds, squirrels moles, voles, gophers and mice!  We would get the birds away from her but the other things were on their own!  This is the same cat that would ride wayward dogs off the property, literally.  If they didn't leave when she hissed at them, she would jump on their backs, swiping at their eyes until they got on the road.  Then she'd hop off and come back to the house.  I miss her!  I really enjoy watching feline's on the hunt!
