	Morning! Slept in this morning. Getting caught up on sleep is doing me a world of good. I'm breaking in a new pair of walking shoes today in preparation for the vacation which will start on Saturday. We're getting the first week's schedule roughed in. Wednesday is when we'll take delivery on the new lawnmower and Skywise will be giving it its first test on this hayfield of a yard. We may need a hay baler.... Right now, tea, breakfast and getting caught up.

	Skywise is at work and I've been trying to avoid a headache caused by the fire our neighbor has going. Hopefully it will burn out soon and the air will clear. I want to take my walk this afternoon but I'm not going to do it until that fire is out and the smoke is gone. And.... resisting the urge to be snarky. It would serve no purpose and I intend to be "above" the provocation.

	Well, I ended up taking a nap on the Queen's orders. It's hard to argue with a most beloved 11.5 pound cat that has parked herself, purring, on your chest. Then I got my walk in and finally got to read some of my book. (I have only a few pages left to read and I'll comment in my writing thread when I'm done.) I made out tomorrow's shopping list, caught up the math in the checkbook and made out the bank withdrawal slip. Then I did some dishes and made dinner. Now I'm waiting for Skywise to get home and hoping that the rain we're expecting tomorrow -- to the tune of 1 to 3 inches -- holds off until we're finished in town. Tomorrow night could be "interesting" with severe weather predicted. We'll have to see how that goes....

	Morning! We made it to town and back without getting drenched. We should be getting some significant rain in the next hour to hour and a half. Hopefully, there will be none of that 3+ inches of rain nonsense. Time to catch my breath and get caught up before I put the rest of the stuff away.

	STILL waiting for the expected storms to arrive. They're in the northern third of the state and show no sign of moving on. Flash Flood Warnings are in effect for most of the counties in that part of the state. While waiting, I've been working on the map storage tube. Skywise suggested that I bevel the inside of each end so the map would go in without catching which is what I've been doing. I bought a new half round file bastard file and the work went fairly quickly. Messy as hell though. I was going to walk today but the humidity is nearly 90% right now so I'm going to err on the side of caution. Besides, dishes and laundry await.

	Adventures in Hornet Catching Moonie wanted an intact specimen. She's got one wounded and angry hornet in a cleaned out JIF jar. Two others are trapped between the sliding glass door and the screen... And we have incoming weather... I need a drink....

	Afternoon. We're back from the grocery run. We have a big piece of dead tree down in front, another piece down in the back and a third piece laying on the Guest House. That one doesn't look like it did any damage. It's fairly lightweight wood and didn't really have far to fall. Skywise is out checking things now.

	After a certain amount of puzzling, we've concluded that given the size (small), shape (circular) and the fact that the geology here is wrong for a genuine sinkhole, it is another abandoned well. People have been living here for 150 years, give or take a decade, and it's likely that more than one well was dug in the years before my parents bought the place. 	I took the afternoon off. Stayed offline, puttered around and took a nap with the Queen and the Prince - who is the only one of the other cats the Queen allows to sleep on our bed when I'm on it. I'm going to settle in to watch The Quest shortly and then make dinner. The Novel and Short Story Writer's Market will arrive tomorrow so work of the writing type is on the horizon. 	Morning. We took off first thing this morning to deposit Skywise's check and to pick up a few things at Walmart that were too bulky to get Wednesday along with our usual load. Now we're back and counting down the hours until our vacation starts -- which will be in about 12 to 13 hours from now... Time to get caught up.

	The letter carrier has arrived and I have my copy of the 2015 Novel and Short Story Writer's Market. Now, I can get an idea of how long "Cliffside Story" should be for the magazine market. It or something like it would be perfect for the anthologies that Marion Zimmer Bradley used to put out but since she died, they're no longer published. Shame that, some damned good writers got started with those anthologies.
