Every church in the area is closed. We have nearly seven inches of new snow on the ground.
Why do I think that my UPS delivery will be delayed another day?
Or two?

We decided to see if we could get out of here. We did and now we're back. The van is stuck in the driveway but if you're going to be stuck, being stuck in your own driveway "coming home" is the best place and circumstance to be stuck in. Skywise is currently trying to get it unstuck and positioned where he wants it near the top of the driveway.

The van is unstuck, dinner has been cooked and eaten and I've been trying to write to no avail. Either I'm too tired or my cognitive functions are buried under the 11.5 inches of snow we have -- 7.9 of which has fallen the last 24 hours. *sigh* Now the Queen is in my lap so that is THAT!

A few minutes ago, I tried to get out of this chair and couldn't. Skywise had to literally lift me out of it. It has been a long time since my knees hurt this bad. Slogging back from the road through snow that was knee deep in spots carrying groceries -- and nearly falling three times -- is probably responsible for that. Consequently, I'm heading out. Someone will have to go out to the road to get the UPS delivery (no way is that bum going to walk down our driveway) tomorrow and it would be nice if I can walk by then.

Morning.
I can walk reasonably well this morning and my package is out for delivery so I'll be spending the day checking the UPS site to see if he's been here yet. At the moment, it's sunny and not terribly cold. Tomorrow, however, is gonna be a damned mess -- freezing rain. Fortunately, we don't have to go anywhere in the morning and there's a chance that it will have turned to "all rain" by the time he leaves for work. *fingers crossed.* Now to get dressed and get something to eat. Oh! And tea......

Skywise is on his way to work and the stand I ordered from Amazon is set up in the living room so it is out of the way while the cats inspect it. I've ordered tent stakes for it since it's light and therefore a bit unstable and I'm going to make a wooden top for it so I won't have to worry about the propane stove I'm going to buy falling through which, as you can see, is a legitimate concern. All in all I'm happy -- especially that it's here and I don't have to spend the rest of the day waiting for delivery!

They've pushed back the "start time" for the freezing rain so Skywise could get home before things get bad. At least I hope so.

By all accounts, the morning rush hour was a mess. Fortunately, we were not out in it. There's another band moving through right now and that should be the end of it. We decided to wait until tomorrow to head into town. Hopefully, it will not be snowing.....

And it is STILL raining. The snow is melting at a pretty good clip when explains why everyone is yelling "FLOOD WATCH!!"
Agents of SHIELD is finally back tonight. I really enjoyed Agent Carter and I hope they make more but I'm also really interested in seeing how things are going to work out on AoS now.

And I have a sneaking suspicion that Agent Tripp isn't dead.... but we may not know that for a while, maybe a long while, yet.

Morning.

The rain has FINALLY stopped. There is still plenty of snow on the ground though. We'll see if we get any more snow or rain today. It's supposed to snow like the devil in the southern part of the state but if it moves north a little we could be getting the snow so I'll be keeping an eye on things!

We went into town and picked up a few things including one of Skywise's prescriptions and had lunch.

Now to get caught up.

Skywise should be at work by now and I've been researching line-families on a website I just found. I have about half of the books on the recommended reading list and will get the rest as I can.
Finding compatible people/personalities would/will be a lot harder than finding books, I'm afraid.....

I haven't gotten much of anything useful done today. I think the ongoing winter weather is dragging me down. I want to get out and walk but there's still too much snow so until it warms up and the ground dries out, no walkies for me which bugs me. I do some of my best thinking while walking and "thinking" needs to be done. *sigh*

Afternoon.
Went to Bloomington, got back, been trying to fix the work station drawer that fell apart last night. *sigh* Need to get some smaller screws to fix it and we can't do that until tomorrow so I have to stow the contents of the drawer elsewhere. Need tea but the iced tea maker needs to be delimed first... *sigh*

Afternoon.
We're back from what was basically a catfood run and Skywise is currently in the kitchen putting the workstation drawer back together. It will definitely be better put together than it was.

I did the mobile kitchen unit cutting layouts last night and I can get everything on three half sheets of plywood. They'll be hard to handle but they will produce the least amount of "waste wood" not that wood is ever wasted around here. Now that I know what I'm going to have to buy, I can make a budget.

Skywise is done in the kitchen so now... TEA!!
