	They're back. We have a sick kitty. RB has a respiratory infection and a temp of 105. He got two antibiotic shots, one 24 hour shot and a long lasting shot. He also got an IV 'cause he's dehydrated. He goes back on the 8th for follow up. He also needs his teeth cleaned.

	RB is walking around and eating and drinking a little so we're assuming that he's feeling a bit better. The rain has stopped -- for the moment -- and the sun is peeking out. This is a good thing.

	According to the radar, there is no rain currently anywhere in Indiana. There's rain heading this way but it is a couple of states to the west so we'll probably be dry for some hours yet. This is good. It will cut down the chances of flooding....

	We're back from dinner and still rain free but it's clouding up and the breeze -- warm -- is picking up. I just checked the radar and the rain is moving through Illinois. I expect it here in a couple of hours -- hopefully without any tornadoes!

	Rain is incoming -- slowly -- and we keep losing the satellite signal so I'm going to head out since getting knocked offline is a "given" tonight. We're under Flood/Flash Flood Watches/Warnings through the night and into tomorrow morning. WE won't flood, we're on some of the highest ground in the state, but we could find ourselves on an "island" for a while tomorrow. Anyway... Everyone sleep well and be safe. Post # 38,200

	Morning. Currently not raining but that's expected to change. RB is some better. He still isn't interested in eating so he's getting kitten milk from a syringe. He's starting to show some spirit when he's had enough so we're hopeful.

	The rain has stopped for a while anyway. Skywise went into town for tacos and found that the route he usually takes -- which was under water in '08 -- was flooded again although not as bad as it was then. Tacos and various other Taco Bell goodies were purchased and he took another route to the highway. RB seems a little better. He's sitting up in "meatloaf mode" for longer periods instead of doing the "flat cat pose" all the time. Skywise will be poking more kitten milk into him shortly along with water to keep him hydrated and get a little nourishment into him.

	After his last feeding, Skywise reports that he thinks RB is doing better. He has a long way to go but fingers crossed he seems to be on the mend.

	RB just got up and went downstairs. He used the litter box down there -- Moonie followed him -- and now he's back upstairs in his favorite spot.

	We'll decide in the morning whether or not to take RB back to the vet. We suspect that he might have a sinus infection or a kitty head-cold in addition to a respiratory infection. It's not raining now but more is expected. We can hear thunder in the distance so I'm heading out. Everyone sleep well and be safe.

	Morning. RB is doing better today. Skywise will probably confer with the vet's office later. Right now he's at the auto shop with the van. Hopefully, they're fixing the brakes which they screwed up. In other news, our total property tax bill has gone down.

	Skywise got back with the van at around 10:30. It needs a new master break cylinder. They'll have it in tomorrow and we have an appointment for Wednesday. After he got back, we went into town to do the banking and have lunch. Then we went to Greenwood to hit a couple of shops. Then we had DQ and headed home. It is not raining, the sun is currently out and it is windy as all get out. In other news, RB is feeling healthy/strong enough to refuse to be fed kitten milk with a syringe. He's attempting to escape (which is good) and Moonie is having to hold him while Skywise feeds him.

	RB is still refusing food and water so he'll be seeing the vet in the morning, hopefully early. Hopefully there is something he can do to get him to eat or figure out why he won't. On the plus side, he's used the litter box and both of his "elimination systems" are in working order.

	Skywise got more kitten milk and water into RB. He seems to be improving but very slowly which is worrisome. A visit to the vet tomorrow is pretty much a lock. I don't know if I'll be going along or not, it depends on the weather and if we can all fit in the "Dinkmobile" with a kitty carrier. Everyone sleep well and be safe.

	We're back. RB is feeling feisty enough to try to escape his kitten milk feeding but he's STILL going to the vet 'cause he still isn't eating or drinking. We think it's because his nose and maybe his ears are stopped up. A shot of decongestant would probably help if they make such things.

	Our "sick" kitty bailed out the back door while we were taking a dead mouse and the laundry basket it died under outside. Fortunately, Moonie caught him before he decided to take a constitutional out in the woods. He's back inside and walking around a bit but mostly he's sitting at the back door waiting for another opportunity. STILL GOING TO THE VET!!!

	Everyone's back. Our boy is better but he's still sick. One lung is clear while the other still has some congestion in it. He still has a fever and got a shot for that. He's gained a pound since Saturday and the vet definitely approved of our "feeding program". We've got a bottle of the dreaded "pink stuff" (amoxicillin) that we'll be dosing him with twice a day. Right now, he's walking around and trying to sweet talk us into letting him out or failing that, a way to sneak out. AND... HE'S IN MOONIE'S ROOM AND HE'S EATING!!!!!

	Afternoon. Skywise has been at the auto shop since 8 am and at last report the brakes still aren't fixed -- the connection was lousy so I'm not sure exactly what the problem is. sigh So the waiting continues. I hope someone over there gives him a ride so he can get something to eat.... RB is sleeping on the basement steps. I think yesterday's activities wore him out.

	RB's level of feisty is definitely going up. He just took off like a shot when he saw Skywise with a syringe in his hand. It had water in it but RB wasn't taking any chances. And we're seriously thinking about finding a new shop to work on our vehicles. The quality of work has gone downhill since the owner's divorce. It now appears that with this new problem they've found, the van didn't need a new master cylinder after all but since it's been installed, we'll have to pay for it AND for whatever else needs to be replaced -- something in the parking brake system. We've already shelled out $1,200+ for the routine work Skywise wanted done plus some other problems they found (worn belt and suchlike) and the prospect of another bill of similar size does NOT appeal. And with my knees the way they are, getting in and out of the car (Chevy Cruze) is "difficult" building up to "agony" so if I'm going to get out of here for anything other than what's absolutely necessary, I need the van.
