The nickel silver barstock for the sword buttcap arrived today along with a pair of ebony knife handle scales so I won't have to "make do" with what I was going to use which will cut out several hours of work. They aren't as pitch black as I'd like but Minwax makes "ebony" stain which I have on hand that should rectify that problem nicely. Since I'm having to wait by the phone there will be no work on the nickel silver until we have this delivery scheduled (see my post on another thread) 'cause once I start either with making the buttcap or "salvage operations" I won't want to quit until I'm done.

Things have FINALLY settled down and I have glasses so I'm seeing as well as I'm going to. If things go like I hope, I'll be able to get back to work this weekend. *fingers crossed*
