	We made a fast trip into town to get sandwiches. Tomorrow we'll look for something to have here for me to eat for breakfast that isn't bacon and eggs which I am thoroughly tired of.... Post # 42,111

	I have spent the day editing diabetes articles I've pulled off the internet and copied to word documents. My eyes are crossed, my brain is tired and I'm trying not to be despondent but it is hard. I hope that when I finally get into remission -- I'll need a year's worth of normal A1c results to be declared "in remission" -- I'll be able to have ice cream or pasta once in a great while. I expect to be testing my glucose for the rest of my life, barring a Divine miracle...

	Evening. I've been busy today getting ready for the "Cook-A-Thon" that will start tomorrow. My right knee "popped" last night and that's slowing me down some. The incoming weather probably isn't helping any! Diabetes is going to complicate Thanksgiving dinner prep but I found a Splenda/brown sugar blend in the store today that I'm going to use to make the sweet potatoes. If I don't pig out on them, I should be okay. I'm making a slight change in my apple pie recipe for us. The folks at the post office will be getting the original recipe since I have a LOT of filling for those.

	Afternoon. We did our usual Thursday produce run today since tomorrow is well.... Thanksgiving. Good thing too. I picked up an item that I "thought" I had but wasn't sure. Turns out I didn't have it and things would have gotten hairy tomorrow without it. The turkey will be going into the crockpot shortly then I'm going to rest my knees for a while. Cortisone notwithstanding, they do NOT like this weather! I don't either. The wind is making me nervous as hell.......

	Pumpkin pie is in the oven. I modified the recipe so we'll see how it turns out. I'll start the final preparations in about an hour with dinner after that as soon as I can manage. THEN, I will fold like a futon! (Which I feel like doing right now!)

	Afternoon. A cold, wet miserable afternoon. We're back from Greenwood and Skywise has been on the roof repairing a leak over Spirit's bedroom. Apparently one of the pieces of tree that landed on the roof during that last windstorm punched a hole in it and when it rained Tuesday, it made itself known. We thought the leak was the result of a gutter backup but this morning we were proved wrong. It started leaking after Skywise and I went to bed but fortunately, Moonie and Spirit were awake when it started leaking. Moonie put the bucket under the leak -- the tarp she and I had put over the storage shelves under it was still in place -- and switched bedrooms with her sister so Spirit would sleep and not fuss and Moonie could sleep too. Skywise has a temporary fix in place. He'll do something more permanent when things dry out.
