	Knees have been hurting all day but I've avoided taking painkillers. I don't want to build up a tolerance to them so... today I just put up with the pain.

	YAY!!! The day has improved! I can cut my metformin doses in half! I'm also getting a topical anti-inflammatory for my knees to use until things settle down and I can get injections. So.. the day has turned around.

	I took some painkillers about 90 minutes ago and they've kicked in. I'll pick up my new prescription tomorrow and we'll see how well it works. Now to start getting caught up on the most pressing chores.

	I used the topical cream about two hours ago. So far so good. It's a bit messy but it smells good. I also just found out that the Chick-fil-A we normally go to is open again. Spirit -- not to mention the rest of us -- will be very happy.

	I've been spending the evening reading a blog by a Hecatean witch. Interesting reading. I don't agree with some of her political/social opinions but she says "you do you" and I can live with that. The blog is interesting reading in any event since Facebook is boring. There's only so much conspiracy, Trump-bashing and general ugliness one can take. Cats and kitten pictures can only do so much to counteract that...

	Afternoon. I've just taken a painkiller to help with knee pain. The topical helps a lot but I still have "some" pain and I HAVE STUFF TO DO TODAY! So... extra painkiller so I can get it done. Now to get caught up until the painkiller kicks in and I can get to the serious work.

	Dinner's over. I'm working on a fabric cover for a new journal. Reworking actually. It is one I made a couple of decades ago that was showing its age. Since I'll be starting a new project that requires a journal I decided to strip the cover down to basics and start over. I've ordered the decorative trim for it, the patch that will go in the center of the cover -- coming from Italy no less -- and the webbing strap that will hold it closed. It already has a handle for easy carrying. Right now, I'm encasing the edges in metallic silver extra-wide double fold bias tape and I'll probably have a blister on my middle finger in the morning. Worth it though.

	Afternoon. Skywise has been using this computer to research one of his favorite subjects -- ciphers and codebreaking. He's been happy as a clam all afternoon while I finished the sewing I was doing last night and did some serious thinking. What I was thinking about is, frankly, no one's business and only concerns the immediate family anyway. The "topical" seems to be working quite well with twice a day applications. I have to remind myself that while my knees aren't hurting they ARE still damaged so I'm be careful to rest them periodically. Who knows when I'll be able to get injections or surgery, after all.

	Dinner is over and was pretty good if I do say so myself. For the first time in a long time, I'm able to wear my rings. The only "problem" is that they're all too loose. I've lost so much weight that I've gone down at least half a ring size on all my fingers. Fortunately, I know where to get "ring guards" so I'll get some and the problem will be solved.
