Another local festival has been cancelled.
Moonie is not happy.

I have a dose of Excedrin Migraine circulating through my bod.
I am feeling NO pain in my head and very little in my knees.
This is good.
I might actually make a dent in my "To Do" lists (yes, I have more than one) today.

Excitement.
One of the girlcats brought a live, uninjured bird into the house. Then she let it loose.
Moonie was able to catch it with her bare hand -- it had a death grip on her fingers -- and took the poor thing outside where she released it and it flew away.
The kittydoor is now CLOSED!

Windy/heavy weather expected later this evening and there are a few things I should get done before then. Fortunately, thanks to Excedrin Migraine, my knees feel pretty good...

The trash has been taken out ahead of the expected storms. Hopefully, it won't be blown into the road or the next county over.

This is Sanctuary Control.
We have thunder.
Going offline until the storms pass -- which could be a while. *sigh*

The worst of the storm is past us so I'm back.
I've been cuddling the Prince but he's decided he's had enough of the mushy stuff and jumped off.
I will now check and see if the world is still out there.

AMAZING!!!
A necklace I ordered from a vendor in the Russian Federation has, after being shipped nearly two months ago, arrived in Chicago. It had been sitting in some sort of Russian postal facility since July 3rd and I'd frankly given up on ever receiving it. Now it is in the US, in Chicago, and once it clears U.S. Customs and gets in the clutches of the US Postal Service, it should arrive in short order. I hope it's worth the wait.
Also today, I received two embroidered patches I'd ordered, one from England and the other from.... Lithuania.
One of two dolls I was expecting also came today so I'll be doing some "costuming" for her. Gotta keep busy, ya know...

Skywise has called. He's on his way.
Today went better than last Monday.
Still on the "learning curve" with his countertop oven.
We'll see how it goes.

Skywise is home.
Apparently a large limb came down during the storm and barely missed the van.

Heading out.

Afternoon.
Last night's storm did more damage than I realized last night. There's a part of a tree down in the Old House's front yard. It's still attached and it's gonna be a bitch to deal with.
There's a couple of large pieces of locust tree down at the edge of the woods on the north side of the Old House but the real problem is a "widow maker" in the same area.
It's huge and high up AND it is right over a portion of the yard. It appears firmly attached at one end and hung up in a tree opposite it. I don't know how or even if, we can get it down ourselves. Something else to deal with.....

Skywise is at work by now. He did what he could on the mess before he left. Thanks to my knees, I can't be much help which aggravates the hell out of me. But there's nothing I can do about it.

Moonie got the bowsaw and cut some of the limbs that are down on the north side this afternoon. I was able to help by pulling the lighter pieces out of the yard and into the woods so I don't feel quite as useless as I did. There's still a lot to do but it will require the chainsaw which neither of us is competent to handle so Skywise will have to do that. At least we lightened his workload somewhat...

Afternoon.
Back from lunch.
Everything's quiet so far.
Last two episodes of Agents of SHIELD on tonight.  Cry
I'm gonna miss it, even if I can rewatch the show on DVD.

Moonie and I finished watching the series finale of Agents of SHIELD almost an hour ago. I've been posting in the AoS group I'm in since then. I just left for the night. Everyone seems satisfied with the ending and I predict a LOT of fanfic in the future, maybe some by me. Who knows what might happen if I get inspired. Right now though, I'm going to "process" it all and concentrate on other things.

Afternoon.
Skywise came home furious last night. He "may" have been in close contact with someone currently being tested for CoVid-19. The man was irresponsible and now Skywise and pretty much everyone at his workplace has been in contact with this jerk.
NOT going to say anymore until we have something solid.

The necklace arrived today as did the remaining doll I was expecting. So I have one doll whose hair needs to be repainted -- change the color from red to black and maybe add a beard -- and four that need costuming. One doll may end up with more than one outfit. I'll see how the spirit moves me. I'll also be designing the diorama they will be displayed in. THAT is going to take some thought since it will need to be rather elaborate.....  Smiley

The girls and I moved more pieces of tree this evening. There's still a lot to do but Skywise will have to use the chainsaw on the bigger pieces before we can move them. I'm sitting here considering taking painkillers in anticipation of a painful night. I quit when it started getting hard to walk/keep my balance.
They don't tell you how hard it gets to keep your balance when you have arthritis in your knees....

I have a rug, 12 feet in diameter made of heavy macrame cord. It badly needs to be washed and dried. It would likely destroy a standard commercial washing machine, not to mention a dryer -- provided that it would fit in one which is by no means certain. So... I'm trying to think of a way to wash and dry the thing. I "think" I've figured out how to dry it. It would probably take a few sunny days but it could be done. WASHING it is the problem. I need something big enough to hold it along with enough water and Dark Laundry Woolite. Once in the water, the girls and I would take off our shoes, roll up our pant legs and STOMP the dirt out. Rinse and repeat until it was clean. Then we'd strong arm it out to drain dry.
Definitely a muscle building exercise.
The question is what to wash it in that won't break the bank to buy. This is my current, non-pandemic problem.
(No, it won't fit in the bathtub and even if it did, we'd never get it out of the house to dry it outside...)
