Morning... for a few minutes yet.
We've been to town and back.
The recycling bin was so full we couldn't put anything but the cardboard in and that just barely. We'll try again, probably tomorrow.
It's snowing. Snowfall Not sticking all that well but it IS snowing. I guess that means that winter is officially here.

Skywise is on his way and I'm trying to decide what chores I can do today that will be easy on my knees since I "pushed" yesterday while the weather was good 'cause I knew today wouldn't be and today, I'm paying for it. *sigh* I don't want to take anything -- don't want to build up a tolerance which would be easy to do. Oh well, I'll think of something....

I managed to get a few things done. Still have a couple of things to do but I'm going to catch my breath and check my blood pressure first.

Good news: There's finally some movement on getting the prescription I need for my knees. Hopefully, I'll have it in hand before too long and then we can start figuring out when it can be done between the pandemic and Skywise's schedule.

Skywise hasn't called yet.  Cry Another miserable night of too much mail and not enough people and equipment to move it. [I know this without being told.] Maybe someday we'll be able to enjoy the holidays but that time is not now. Now, it's just a grinding marathon to get through reasonably intact. *sigh*
Since the internet is boring, I'm going to head out and wait for his call.

Afternoon.
Skywise got home at 5 am.  Smiley
He leaves for work in half an hour.
We've been to the recycling bin then to Martinsville for lunch and groceries.
It's gonna be a long day.....

I "may" have enough space cleared to get the box downstairs and the unit assembled. I won't know for sure until I get down there with a measuring tape. Fortunately, there is no shortage of them around here: 6 feet, 12 feet, 25 feet, 50 feet and 100 feet all stashed in a bucket with enough tent states and nylon cord to stake out a decent sized house. [That's the sort of thing that accumulates in a household with someone who is always "planning and measuring". Not to mention "drawing" (as in plans)...]

Once the box with the unit in it has been wrestled downstairs, we'll be getting a trash can with a bag in it down there. There's a LOT of stuff to throw away and a bunch of cardboard boxes that can be flattened out and taken to the recycle bin -- probably this weekend.

I've found an open storage unit that needs repair but can be used if I'm careful what I put on top of it. A lamp in that area would be very useful so I'll see if it will fit once the new unit is up. Fortunately, water has never gotten to that side of the basement so there's no water damage or mold there... a mound of dead bug bodies under a sizeable colony of abandoned cobwebs but no mold.

I'm going to sit here for a bit and suck down tea and give the painkiller I took a chance to work -- I didn't wait for it, I headed downstairs as soon as I swallowed it -- and to cool off. Then I'll go back down with a broom and dustpan -- to take care of the bugs -- and a measuring tape. I hope I have already cleared enough space. I have enough other things to do today and I'll need to be able to move tomorrow!!

There is enough room for the new unit. Thank you, Great Ones!
The bug corpses, dried corn and dirt have been swept up.
There "may" be room for a smaller unit in the corner between the unit arriving tomorrow and the cabinet that I'm building. I won't know for sure until I get the new unit into place.
I'll need to clear a LOT more space when it comes time to assemble the cabinet but I need to clear that space anyway. I just won't be clearing it as quickly as I did today. Smiley
Now... it is time to crash like the Hindenburg until it's time to start dinner!

I'm back. I've been busy in the kitchen. We -- Moonie and I -- will be getting dinner started soon. We're hoping that Skywise won't be as late as he was last night!

Smiley There is a smallish cabinet I want to buy.
The local Home Depot does not have one.
In fact there isn't one at a Home Depot within a hundred miles.
This annoys me greatly.
Time to check Amazon, Lowes and Menards...

Looks like another long, miserable night at work for Skywise. If he got off right now, it would be 4:30 before he got home.
I'm glad there aren't too many years of this left for us to get through...
I'm falling asleep so I'm heading out.

Afternoon.
Another extremely late night last night.
This morning wasn't fun either. The passenger side sliding door on the van has developed a problem. We have what we need to fix it, we just need the time.
Skywise is at work and I'm waiting for the FedEx man.  On the plus side, I received the new Loretta Chase book today so there's that.

FedEx greatly overestimated how long it would take them to get me my shipment. They "said" today. Now they're saying "Friday". We'll see.

"None are so blind as those who will not see."

I took a brief stroll through the pagan blogosphere just now. It was brief because I just ate and I don't want to upset my stomach. Unbelievable as it seems, there are STILL those who insist that everything about the election was above board and honest as the day is long despite mountains of evidence -- videos and hundreds of sworn statements given under the penalty of perjury attesting to massive fraud, some incidents reaching the level of treason -- occurring on election day and for days afterward. Some insist that President Trump is somehow obligated and/or compelled to go along with the outright theft of the election. These people, rather than let the system work as it is designed, are letting their judgment be compromised by their raging Trump Derangement Syndrome to the point of irrationality. [In this country we do NOT send political opponents to concentration camps which is what the "reeducation centers" that some are advocating are.]
I cannot help but wonder what their reaction will be when -- as seems certain -- the fraud is exposed, President Trump is formally/legally recognized as having been re-elected and their cherished delusions/cognitive dissonance collapses in flaming ruins.

What will they do when, as seems likely, the inhabitants of the Swamp call out their Shocktroops to riot, destroying everything in their path? They DID say that the riots would resume if Biden lost, after all.

What will they do when, as would seem likely in such an instance, the Insurrection Act is invoked, martial law is declared and troops move in to rescue trapped, terrified citizens and restore order?

Will they continue to insist that Biden won, even when/if he and others are arrested, tried and most likely found guilty thanks to overwhelming, "beyond a reasonable doubt" evidence?

Will they have the guts to admit that they were wrong, that they were lied to and believed the lies?

Only time will tell.....

Smiley Skywise hasn't called yet. Another long damned night.
I'm going to head out and wait for him while I'm still reasonably coherent. At least I have a new book to read if my eyes and brain hold out.

Some good news finally!
I heard from the doctor's office. They've sent my prescription for Gelsyn 3 in to have it filled and once I receive it, I can call and schedule the appointments for the injections.
I'll be making a knee pillow, getting more ice bags and planning to stockpile enough ice to use on my knees while I wait.
Things are looking up... at least in that regard.

I've been researching and printing out information on GelSyn 3 since I will, hopefully, be starting the shots before the end of the year. Pain relief doesn't start immediately like the first shots I got but once it takes hold, I should have 4 to 6 months of pain relief. The treatment can be repeated although not indefinitely but it "should" buy me some time before I have to go under the knife with the probable year long recovery/rehab period. I would prefer to avoid that while the pandemic is in progress. Hopefully, I can hold off on the surgery until it's over or has at least died down. "Water therapy" is usually part of the rehab process -- Yes, I've researched that too -- and it will help if the local YMCA with its swimming pool is open since we don't have a pool in the backyard!

I'm just glad that "relief" is in sight, even if it won't be permanent.

Skywise called about 15 minutes ago. He's mad because, due to the incompetence of co-workers, he should be home by now. At least he'll be home before 5 tonight.
I'm going to head out.

Smiley
Afternoon.
The bookcase has arrived and was wrestled into the house, down the stairs and into position with much use of strong language. I'll be assembling it this afternoon and start the process of loading it. I'll probably change the contents at a later date, right now, I want to get the stray books in the basement corralled.
I've already taken painkillers since my knees have been bitching at me since I got up this morning.
Skywise got home at 4:30 am last night.
He's on his way back to work now. The ONLY compensation is that his next check will be a monster. I'd rather have my husband home at a reasonable hour than money though. This schedule is too hard on both of us.
Moonie's food order was stolen right out of the pick up area at McD's but they made it right. I guess when we arrive late [for us anyway] like we did today and it's crowded, one of us will have to wait right there for the order to come up.
As soon as the painkiller kicks in, I'll be heading downstairs for furniture assembly. Until then, I'll be catching up with the world. After which, I'll probably be happy to hide in the basement!

Not finished yet but taking a break.
Bleeding in at least one place. Not sure how I gouged myself.
Sweating like a plow horse.
Know now why the damned box was so heavy. All the pieces are at least an inch thick. Smiley On the plus side, I doubt that anything I put in it will be too heavy for the shelves.
According to the instructions, it MUST be fastened to a wall.(The unit is 73 inches tall, 30 inches wide and 14 inches deep. Not deep enough to be freestanding.)
Currently Not Possible in our basement with its unfinished/no studs poured concrete walls. A five gallon bucket filled with concrete mix or sand (I'm not sure which at the moment. All I know is that it's heavy as hell!) centered on the bottom shelf will have to do until I figure something out -- probably something involving super heavy duty construction/concrete adhesive and 2 x 4s.  Smiley
Cooling off and drinking tea. The next step is to put the back on which will be a pain -- I know from experience -- but that "should" make the unit less "wiggly". Then, I put the "feet" on it and stand it upright. That is when I'll put the bucket in. I don't want the damned thing to come down on me while I'm putting the shelves in, which is the last step.
The "step" after that will be to come upstairs and get off my feet. Even with painkillers in my system, I'm still in a lot of pain. I suspect that I won't be finishing the cabinet I'm building -- which will be more complicated than what I'm doing now -- until I have my knees pumped full of GelSyn 2 and it has fully taken effect which could be as long as 8 weeks after the last injection but I'm hoping it won't take that long.
Break nearly over. Time to get back to work.

DAMN!!! Smiley
In order to keep this damned unit square while I put the back on -- not to mention keeping it square once it's finished -- I need at least 4 corner brackets (8 would be even better, maybe 12....) and I don't have any!!!  Smiley Smiley Smiley And I can't get them until tomorrow at the earliest!! More Smiley!!! I am so frustrated right now!! I just wanted to get this done today so I could move on to the next project over the weekend! I've tried everything I can think of and the DAMNED thing won't "square" no matter what I try. So I'll have to install brackets that will FORCE it to be and stay square.  Smiley Smiley  Smiley
