	#5446 Penthesilea Meanwhile, back at the Castle... Sir Michael stood in the gardens on the roof of the Main Hall at the point where the Keyholder's Tower rose above the building. He rubbed the bridge of his nose and looked up. Somehow someone, presumably a photographer, had gotten onto the roof and had attempted to climb the Tower! The obvious intent was to get into the Tower and either take pictures, plant remote cameras or both. The man had been spotted and when he refused to climb down, Michael had sent the gremlins after him. The gremlins had reached him in no time and had peeled him off of the stone. He was presently being handed down the tower's side by the gremlins and, if they occasionally let their grip slip Michael didn't care. Word had gotten around about the unbelievable sums being offered for nude pictures of Penthesilea. "What is the Darklord getting?" was the main topic of conversation on the "Adult Industry" circuit and the bidding war was getting out of hand. Several servants had already reported attempts to bribe them into planting cameras in the nuptial chamber. The demand for live feed video of the wedding night was, apparently, reaching the levels of a zombie feeding frenzy. When the man finally reached the roof of the Main Building, Michael had him clapped in irons and removed to "Secure Holding" -- the dungeon -- until the festivities were over. Then he would be charged with trespassing, tried, convicted and put to work at hard labor! As the man was hauled away, Michael's radio squawked for his attention. Another reporter was incoming in a hang glider, intending to land on the tower roof. Michael growled a curse and headed out....

It was one piddling diplomatic snit after another as the representatives of the lesser states jockeyed for position. Hypatia took a few precious moments to contemplate putting them all to the sword and then plunged back into the fray....

	#5448 Rewritten by Penthesilea Fortunately, Shankarika was in the Castle and felt the turmoil in Hypatia's mind. It didn't take long for her to find the severely overworked woman. A quick word with a page sent the child hurrying to the kitchen for tea and honey. Shankarika smiled and the tension went out of Hypatia's face. Karika firmly shooed everyone else from the room and closed the door, giving the guard orders to admit no one but the page. She took Hypatia's hands in her own and looked into the other woman's eyes. "Tell me what is troubling you."

I need some more Sisters to see that the Cathedral is set up properly and some other small matters while I -- diplomatically -- knock some heads together!" She rose from her seat.* Let's go.

	#5453 Penthesilea Together, Hypatia and Karika were able to settle the matters of seating and precedence at the Handfasting. If all the parties were not completely satisfied, a gentle reminder that the Darklord would NOT be happy if his Handfasting was disrupted by petty quarrels that upset his Lady was sufficient to quell any mention of it! When the two women finally retired for the night, all was peaceful and quiet.

	#5454 Penthesilea Penthesilea retired for the night in what was, essentially, an improvised barracks. All of the women slept together in one large room. It was a blessing for Penthesilea. She did not know how she could have faced the bed that she and Kodiak had shared. Only the knowledge that they would soon be together forever made it possible for her to endure the separation.

	#5459 Penthesilea Penthesilea rose at dawn and with her attendants, went to the top of her tower to sing. A quick magickal scan of the area spotted the news crew with the long range camera and microphones in the hot air balloon that was waiting to pop up as soon as the sun rose. With a sigh, Penthesilea deflated the balloon and called security who collected the somewhat bruised intruders. Then she sang, thankful that the handfasting would soon take place and that she and Kodiak would live happily ever after, forever.....

	#5460 Penthesilea After lunch Penthesilea returned to the top of her tower, not to sing but to reflect. Her gaze turned to the west where her love was camped with her father and his men. What happened there was not for a woman to know but Penthesilea suspected that involved a good deal of drinking, boasting, athletic activity and various forms of masculine nonsense in addition to the serious work that had to be done. She smiled at the thought of her beloved and raising her hand, blew a kiss in the direction of the camp. Then her mind began to drift and she found herself thinking about all the women who had tried and failed to separate her from her Lord. Harlots dressed in the clothing of noblewomen, silly fools who thought that their skill at bedgames was enough to hold him, duplicitous sluts who pretended to love him when in fact they were only using him.... the Succubus.. Penthesilea frowned. That demon-spawned cow was still on the loose. Still needing to be taught that you exploit the Darklord at the peril of his Lady's wrath!! And Penthesilea was wrathful! When next she laid eyes on that particular she-demon only one of them would walk away! No one could harm those Penthesilea loved without consequence! With a sigh, Penthesilea released her anger and put thoughts of just and bloody vengeance aside. In a few short days, she would again be in his arms and their love would remake the world....

	#5469 Penthesilea By evening, the men had returned to the Castle. Penthesilea watched as they entered the Castle's Military Compound. She could recognize Kodiak by his body language. GODS! She loved him so much. He was her heart. He was her soul. He was the air she breathed. His enemies were hers and anyone who dared hurt him would find their lives forfeit if she could lay hands on them! For a moment, she allowed the rage to take her, let her own Darkness rise and show in her eyes. Then she let it go. In twenty four more hours, she and Kodiak would be joined before Gods and Men. They would spent the rest of their immortal lives together. Together. Forever.

	#5478 Penthesilea With the arrival of the Groom�s party, the Castle went into security lockdown. At Sir Michael�s order, anyone without the proper credentials was barred from the grounds. The gremlins set up air patrols with orders to keep the airspace clear within 20 miles of the Castle and Cathedral and once the freelance news crews realized that they would be shot down, things did settle down. Once of the last matters Sir Michael had to attend to was the delivery of Kodiak�s Handfasting Gift to his bride. Since Kodiak was in seclusion, he had entrusted the knight with the task of seeing to the well-being of Penthesilea�s gift. Sir Michael had smiled when he saw the gift. The Darklord knew his Lady very well indeed.

	#5479 Penthesilea In the Great Hall, Hypatia oversaw one last detail before she joined Penthesilea for the �Last Night� observances. The Consort�s Seat had been found and restored. Now, on the eve of the Keyholder�s Handfasting it was being put back into place. When Penthesilea�s uncle had taken the Keyholder�s Seat, the Castle had refused to accept his wife as Lady. Furious beyond words, the spurned woman had ordered the Consort�s Seat removed and destroyed. Wiser heads had prevailed and the Seat was hidden away and the furious woman watched as a magickally created duplicate was burned before her eyes. As soon as Penthesilea had given herself, heart and body, to Kodiak the Castle had begun directing the staff to find the Consort�s Seat only ceasing in its insistent nudging when it was found. Now it sat next to the Keyholder�s Seat with the short limestone pillar that represented Penthesilea�s power between them. Tomorrow night, after the Handfasting, Kodiak would place his hand over Penthesilea�s on that stone and the Castle would link to him through her. He would be �Lord� to Penthesilea�s �Lady� for as long as Penthesilea lived. Aides came to give their final reports to Hypatia. Everything was ready.
