	#4175 Penthesilea After lunch, Penthesilea found herself restless for some reason. She marked it up to being cooped up for too long. Without telling anyone, she went to the temporary stables where her stallion was housed and had him saddled. She let them think she was going for a nice sedate ride on the marked trails but as soon as she was out of sight of the Castle, she left the trail and headed into the woods...

Normally she would have cared for her stallion herself instead of leaving him in the hands of his favorite groom but she suspected that the other impatient male waiting for her would not be terribly understanding! As soon as she entered the tower, she cast a spell on herself to restore her "just out of the tub" state of decontamination since she smelled profoundly of horse. Judging from what she was picking up from Kodiak's mind, she wouldn't have time for a bath....

	#4189 Penthesilea *The Keyholder's Bedroom Later....* Penthesilea lay snuggled into Kodiak's left side recovering from the just completed sixth round of their never ending competition to see who would be "too worn out to talk" first, a competition she fervently hoped would never end! Her left hand toyed with his right earlobe and she smiled to herself. It would be time for round seven shortly. She wanted to cram as much as they could into the time remaining to them and she knew that he felt the same way. While it would be possible for the two of them to meet while he was away -- the spells on his ring and his own new abilities would see to that -- the new situation with the Evil now hunting them both, made frequent meetings inadvisable until Kodiak had mastered the new teachings. Despite the danger all around, Penthesilea had never felt so safe or so loved in her life. There was only one thing missing and that lack made her ache. She knew what she wanted to tell him and what she wanted to ask him. She just didn't know where to start. She decided to just start talking and hope that she made sense and that, if she didn't, Kodiak would be able to piece it together! She didn't dare look at him though. If she saw that cocky grin of his with that "look" in his eyes, she'd forget everything that she wanted to say! She took her courage in both hands and began.* Penthesilea: On the day you left, I thought I'd never see you again. I stood on the top of this tower and watched you ride away. I watched until even the dust was gone. And then I cried. She felt his arm tighten around her. As I cried I made a vow. I promised that if you ever returned here and needed blood, you could have as much of mine as you needed. I made that vow in the language that the Gods used to build the world -- the Language of Creation. You cannot lie in the Language of Creation and vows or blessings spoken in it, even if they have no magickal power behind them, have special force. I was told then that such a thing was impossible. That the binding that was put on you would not permit it. I screamed my denial then, in the Language. Every God and Goddess on the planet heard me. I demanded an exemption for myself. That I could give you my blood and receive yours in return, if you wished it. My family interceded and the exemption was granted. (pause, she swallows hard.) We shared blood once, in this room, when I was insane. You did not wish it and I forced you and for that and other transgressions against you, I paid a heavy price. I lost, for a time, even your friendship. The virus that made you a half vampire cannot affect me, especially now that your immortal immune system has so weakened it so you need not fear for me on that score. Her voice nearly breaks but she keeps it steady. I will understand if you do not wish to share with me what you did with Jasmine. She was, after all, your first choice. She can say no more. If she does, she will cry...
