	#3409 Rewrite by Penthesilea Satira entered the room and her eyes immediately fell on the mirror that had been placed at the foot of Penthesilea�s bed. Frolicking in the glass was a little boy who was obviously Daemon. The little lad had shed all his clothes in the manner of small children and was laughing like a tiny fiend as he eluded his mother�s attempts to catch him.

It boiled through his veins like the fires of hell. He liked it. He looked at the Wargod.* The Lord Marshall: What now? None of your instructors can take me, even when I'm blindfolded. Ares grinned widely. Ares: That means -- it's my turn. If that pronouncement caused the Lord Marshall any particular concern it didn't show on his face. His time in the camp had reminded him of what he was. Soft living had caused him to lose his focus, the edge his Darkness gave him and because of that, he had failed in his duty. He had abandoned the home that he had pledged to defend. He had failed the Lady who loved him. His self-loathing was still there but he no longer wished for death. He understood now that living with his failure was a harsher punishment than death. The only punishment that was worse was seeing tears in Penthesilea's eyes. The Lord Marshall: Where do we start?

Quickly, Penthesilea pulled a dagger from under her pillow and a small energy blaster from the bedside table then slipped from her bed, ignoring the pain in her arm. Penthesilea has time for one fetid curse before the nature of the attack becomes obvious as black scorpions as big as a man�s hand begin to drop with frightening speed from the walls. Penth uses her blaster to clear a path to her marble dressing table and both women quickly climb onto it. From that vantage point, Penth quickly sprayed the floor with blaster fire. To her horror, instead of being incinerated in the beam the scorpions blow apart with each fragment becoming a new adult scorpion. As they swarm up the sides of the dressing table, Penthesilea inspeaks to her brother as both kick the creatures away.....

Ares had thrown him and was presently holding Kodiak's right arm behind his back at a very painful angle while pressing his foot against the Lord Marshall's shoulder joint. The Wargod released him and stepped back. Ares: Better. Again. The Lord Marshall stood and took his stance and they began again.....

	#3446 Penthesilea Ares's Boot Camp Meanwhile..... Ares and Kodiak were stripped to the waist, circling warily. Ares had put limits on this power for the duration of the training session. It was the only way to do it. Kodiak had advanced beyond the abilities of all of the instructors except Ares himself and the Wargod was actually proud of him. Not that Ares would ever say so. They closed. Fists and feet flying almost faster than the eye could follow. Then Kodiak slipped past Ares' guard and snapped the Wargod's head back with a vicious kick. Ares beamed.* Good! * Then he grinned and proceeded to pound the Lord Marshall like a tent peg....

	#3447 Penthesilea *Ares's Boot Camp* Having exhausted the possibilities of unarmed combat, Ares began to work through an armory of weapons: staves, knives, spears, fistloads of various sorts and quite a few items that the Lord Marshall had never seen but learned the use of rather quickly --- and sometimes, painfully. Finally, they faced off with swords.....
