	#2500 Penthesilea Beyond the wall, Penthesilea hears her brother's voice, bellowing his battle cry and a sound that could only be the roar of the monster. She rushes toward the sounds only to be blocked by more fighters. She grins, hot and fierce.* Oh, goody. I've been wanting to kill something all day! *With a scream of rage, she rushes them, her sword singing a bloody song.....

	#2501 [Rewritten by Penthesilea] In Paradise Valley, Lord Stephan watches the battle with alarm. His forces were to attack the Castle and, if possible, carry off the Keyholder, for later rescue by himself, and the Darklord, who would be delivered directly to the dungeon. Jasmine knew nothing of his plan. Her acting skills were good but not likely good enough to cover foreknowledge of the kidnappings. The appearance of the unknown monster had thrown his plan into disarray. He had no way to recall his fighters -- they were scum hired from a dozen different cities and in no way traceable to him -- and with the Keyholder charging into the fight instead of retreating behind closed doors the chance of her being killed was unacceptably high. He would have to act quickly if he was to salvage anything....

	#2504 [Rewritten by Penthesilea] The newly arrived mercenary took up a position on the wall where he could rain arrows down on the invaders. Shouts from the Commons attract his attention and he sees that several of the attackers have gotten past the Castle�s defenders. He draws a bead and fires. Before his first target hits the ground, he has fired again and another man falls as he races for the Dining Hall doors.

	#2506 [Rewritten by Penthesilea] Unknown to the Darklord, the invaders have orders to incapacitate but not kill him. Consequently, their blades are drugged and with each cut that they make on him, a little more of the drug enters his system. When he falls, he will be taken prisoner, along with the Keyholder. They have orders to spare certain individuals but everyone else it to be put to the sword.

	#2514 [Rewritten by Penthesilea] A number of servants, led by the provisional Head Cook Tameri, rush out of the Dining Hall and engage the invaders. Tameri quickly proves as adept with a sword as she is with a boning knife and the invaders fall back. She looks around and sees that the Main Courtyard is full of invaders and she can hear the roar of whatever monster is outside the walls. A horrified scream splits the air and she looks up. A portal has opened over the Castle beyond its shields and harpies are pouring out of it. She has a decision to make. Quickly, she reaches into her shirt and pulls out a long, thin whistle on a chain. She inhales deeply and blows for all she is worth. No sound, or at least no sound that a human can hear -- comes out of it. She tucks the whistle away just as the first harpy comes into range. The defenders fall back as the harpy attacks with its wings and claws, attempting to snatch up and carry off one of the defenders. Others quickly join it and the defenders are suddenly hard pressed. Tameri hears a scream as a harpy manages to grab someone and haul them into the air. �Hurry!� she breathes through clenched teeth as she avoids a harpy�s talons. Then she hears it, in the distance but closing fast, the unmistakable sound of a dragon�s alarm call. Within seconds, the air is filled with a score of dragons that sweep into the mass of harpies who drop their captives in order to fight or flee. While the smaller dragons caught the falling humans and returned them to the ground, the larger ones engaged the harpies. It is no contest. Within moments of their arrival, the dragons had cleared the sky and were bulging their victory to the world. Several of the smaller dragons land near Tameri and the servants under her command and rush up to her. Tameri�s companions fall back but Tameri laughs as the dragons gather around her in the manner of little children. She scratches them in their favorite spots and calls them by name as her stunned coworkers look on.

	#2517 [Rewritten by Penthesilea] Beyond the Castle wall, Daemon and Satira led the attack on the monster that was squirming through a Reality Breach barely big enough to permit its passage. In a distant part of her mind, Satira hoped that the part of the monster still on the other side was too large to get through the opening. The flailing mass of tentacles already on this side was more than enough to handle! A tentacle lashed out and seized the fighter to Satira�s left and with a savage cry, she swung the axe she had grabbed on the way out of the Castle. The axe bit deep, nearly severing the tentacle entirely and the thing released its grip. The freed warrior dropped to the ground, still clutching his sword. He nodded his thanks to the warrior woman and waded back into the fray. As near as Daemon could tell, the creature had no tactics beyond grab and throw and, in between dodging its attempts to snatch him up, he spectulated that it was no more or less than some animal intent on going through the interesting hole in front of it to see if what was on the other side was edible. While Daemon could sympathize with the plight of a dumb animal, he had no intention of letting it sample any of the Castle�s inhabitants to see if they were suitable dinner fare! He bellowed his warcry again, dodged and lopped off another tentacle....

Hearing orders bellowed from beyond the low wall that marked the boundary of the Main Courtyard, he learns that a sizable number of invaders have entered the Castle itself and are heading for the second floor where the Castle nursery and the infirmary are located. He joins other Castle defenders in leaving the wall and charging into the Castle with the intention of cutting off the invaders.....

Caught between the enraged gremlins and the determined Amazon sisters, the invaders have no avenue of retreat and begin to fall.

	#2529 [Rewritten by Penthesilea] Dropping her useless sword, Penthesilea catches the �sticks� and immediately recognizes them for what they are. She takes the bundle, twists painfully in the thing�s grip and just before she shoves the bundle down its throat, she pulls the pins that are wired together in sequence and set in the ends of the sticks.. By reflex, it swallows. Penthesilea begins the countdown.... The effect is everything Penthesilea could wish. Her captor blows apart and she falls to the ground. *This WILL hurt,* she thinks just before she hits the ground, landing in the middle of the fighting, even as more explosives detonate....
