	#2539 [Rewritten by Penthesilea] The new mercenary and the rest of the Castle defenders rush up the stairways to the second floor. Coronal, unfamiliar with the layout of the Castle, follows those more familiar with it and soon finds himself in the thick of the fighting.

The Darklord�s son wades into the fray and manages to pull Penthesilea to relative safety. Daemon�s inattention costs him as Satira�s screamed warning comes too late. A tentacle snags him and with a casual �flick� it tosses Daemon toward the Castle�s wall. This is gonna hurt.. Daemon thinks just before he hits the wall....

The stranger compares favorably with Sir Alexander, who as the Fates would have it, was on patrol tonight. Miranda decides to make the stranger�s acquaintance once the fighting is over and the party has started.

	#2553 [rewritten by Penthesilea] With most of the human invaders dead or dying, Penthesilea is finally able to focus on the obscene monstrosity still attempting to crawl out of the Reality Breach outside the Castle walls. She is Keyholder and as such has both the necessary power and the knowledge to close Reality Breaches. She focuses on the Breach and knowledge from the Castle pours into her brain. She puts it to use, casting the complex spell even as the monster squirms a little closer to the Castle. Slowly at first and then with more speed, its massive bulk is pulled back into the breach. Then with a high pitched squeal that makes Penthesilea�s ears hurt, it is pulled back to its home and the breach closes with an audible bang. Feeling a bit lightheaded from the massive expenditure of power, Penthesilea sits down abruptly and surveys the carnage. A number of large critter pieces remain and she casts a small preservation spell on the largest ones. She knows that her scientifically minded daughters will want samples to analyze and catalog.

Fortunately, nothing had been left on the stoves to boil dry and burn and the feast preparations quickly resumed. The Head of Housekeeping was suitably impressed with Tameri�s organizational skills and quietly made a note to herself to keep an eye on her. She was on the lookout for an able assistant that she could groom to be her replacement when she retired. This young woman looked like she had the makings.

	#2557 [Rewritten by Penthesilea] With battle over, Miranda emerges from hiding and approaches the mercenary that she had been watching. Coronal Dax sees her coming and sheathes his sword. He has seen that look in a woman�s eyes before and he smiles. Encouraged, Miranda introduces herself and, taking her hand for a courtly kiss, Coronal returns the introduction. At her suggestion, he escorts her back down to the Main Hall as the gremlins and the humans from the Security Tower begin to sort the dead from the only wounded. Once she is downstairs, Miranda sees the sorry condition of the clothing she had labored so hard to make and goes looking for one of the Castle�s resident sorceresses.

Figuring that everything is more or less under control, he pushes himself into a sitting position and waits for his own natural healing powers to take care of his injuries. After a few moments, he gets to his feet and immediately doubles over coughing, bringing up bright, foamy blood. �Damn,� he swears.

As he approaches, the man with her is called away giving Kodiak his chance. The Lord Marshall comes up to her and pulls a small packet from his pocket which he gives to Miranda. At his urging, she opens it and finds a small amber pendant surrounded by diamonds. She gasps with equal parts of pleasure and surprise. �My Lord! I never seen anything so beautiful! Surely this isn�t meant for me.�

	#2567 [Rewritten by Penthesilea] Coronal Dax had left Miranda�s side reluctantly but he had been commandeered into helping move dead bodies out of the Castle proper and since he was a lower ranked mercenary and newly hired at that, he had no choice but to obey. The work was quickly accomplished. The Castle�s staff was efficient and when he was released he went to retrieve his longbow and quiver from the wall. He left them in the stables with his mounts and returned to the Castle in search of the beautiful Miranda. As he enters the Castle, one of the sorceresses casts a �clean up� spell on him improving both his appearance and his fragrance.

	#2569 Penthesilea The Keyholder appears in front of Daemon with a �pop�, not looking much better but at least she's not spitting up blood. �Men!� She shoves up her sleeves and lets fly with a healing spell powerful enough to lift Daemon two feet in the air. �Immortal does not mean invulnerable! I wish that you would remember that! Now, I've got to find the Lord Marshall. I have something he really needs!� With that, Penthesilea heads back into the Castle, looking for Kodiak. She enters the Main Hall from the Dining Hall and spots Kodiak at the room�s main doors. For just a second, before he sees her, she savors the sight of him standing at the top of the short flight of steps.
