essentially this is a variety of smoky quartz that is found in the Cairngorm Mountains, Buchan Grampian (Banffshire), Scotland. used as a protection against evil and protection in battle. often it was put into swords to help induce bravery and confidence. also used in some Highland dress wear. it's known to have a slightly yellowish tint.
