it is used as a sacred stone by Native Americans of North america,people from South america,certain areas of Africa and the Mayans. supposedly it helps to enchance one's own internal fire. Some Native American Indians made bullets from them believing they would inflict more damage on an opponent.
Christians linked it to Christ's sacrifice and Muslims believed it illuminated the 4th heaven. In Jewish lore, it wasone of the 12 stones used in the breastplate of the high Priests.

it is the traditional gift for a 18th wedding anniversary.

it helps movement of the kundalini . it stimulates and generally protects both the 1st and 7th chakras. also it controls the amount of energy that for that individual. as well as help with any available energies and balancing it. in a sense it makes dark souls brighter and gives people a sense of hope.

the garnet in general helps you mentally and emotionally regain balance with yourelf.

in the middle ages it was thought by wearing it, it helped to repel insects,demons and other nasty entities. also they are considered to be protective against thieves. so by charging a garnet it CAN lesser the chance of being assaulted by one. no guarantee of stopping it. Almandine:
associated with scorpio and virgo. helps with someone who is alone and with thinking . and is useful for people exploring more intellectual pursuits. if held to the 6th chakra, it can aid in past life recovery


andradite:
this stone usually comes in various colors. some are green,yellow-green and black. the black andradite is called melanite as well as "titanian andradite".Melanite helps make a person more honest. helps with the 4th and 5th chakra. also moves relationships to the next stage wether it's good or bad.
a stone of aries. helps with all male aspects. can help in with the magnetic fields of the body.

grossular/grossularite:
the most common color of this stone is various shades of green. in general this stone helps with lawsuits and other challenges. as well as helping people to work together. this stone is usually associated with cancer.

A type of grossular is called hessonite which is actually associated with aries is reddish-orange and yellow. aka "Cinnamon stone". helps with low self esteem and to give yourself self respect. to be an explorer or help continue with it. wether it is on the physical plane or the ethereal one. not sure on the astral. also helps with psychism.

pyrope/rhodolite:
this is usually the most common type of garnet you will see being sold. it is usually a red to purplish red.this stone is usually associated with cancer and leo. a general stablizer. helps in being creative

spessartine/spessartite:
these types of garnets are good with aquarius. they are orange,reds and browns wih some violet. if you are using this stone it can help with inner grown and balance. as well as help a person be more analytical. helps with careers that are home based.

uvarovite:
a green garnet which is usually always a bright emerald green. it helps with being alone without being lonely. works with the 4th chakra and helps with individuality . a stone of devotion and commitment. helps with soul journeying.

aura garnets: very little info on them. they are a form of treated almandine stones. gold treated usually aids in astral travel and past life workings. silver usually connects the lower self to the higher self.under black light they appear to be red/purplish red. under normal light they appear to be gold or silvery.


Star garnets are aka a "Stone of majesty". helps make you choose the proper action.
helps connection with other worlds,dreams and success.
also gets rid of any chaotic or disruptive growth rate. not exactly a stone for discordians. can possibly keep them at bay.
