Try running a live cd of linux on both machines.  If there's any possibility your Hubby's MB is not the main problem, it should boot from the disk.  You can even do a memory scan from it to make sure there isn't anything wrong with your ram.  It doesn't matter how many viruses his Dad's old computer had, as the live cd runs from the cd drive, it will work.  Linux will also allow you to look at the whole system so you can recover files from those computers.  I have even used Linux to reinstall and restore systems that had hidden restore drives that set them back to "factory" settings without having to order the cd's.  At the very least the live cd will let you check email etc and it is free.  I recommend Ubuntu to start .. the 32 bit version  here is the link for it:

Not only did she get on my desk and knock things off (one of which was a ceramic bell which I'm glad didn't break) but I can't find my lazuli Smiley

I'm back!
We went to "Thunder in the Valley", a go-kart racing event in its first year. Consequently, they are still in the "shakedown" stage of the event. Hopefully, they will do it again next year and things will run more smoothly. The qualifying races started 2 hours late but we DID see a lot of practice and that was cool.
Now I'm gonna get caught up around here. Glad to see that no one blew the place up while I was gone!

i saw a fox today. We were drivin to meijer to pick up the toning shoes i wanted cuz we got a coupn for 20% off and a red fox ran acros the road infront of us. Then when we past he ran back, then back to the other side again. Dont know what he was doin but he was cute.

Gonna give everyone a heads up now while I'm thinking about it and there might not be time in the morning.
We are making our annual trip to The Track tomorrow and I'll be gone for most of the day. For those who haven't been soaked in Central Indiana culture all of their lives, "The Track" is the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home of the Indianapolis 500 and tomorrow is the final day of qualifications also known as "Bump Day." We're going to slather ourselves in sunscreen, trek across a two and a half mile "rounded rectangle" in the (probably) hot sun, sit in the grandstands (which are in the shade in the upper levels thanks be to ALL THE GODS!) and watch extremely noisy cars go EXTREMELY fast! As in excess of 220 miles per hour fast! We will eat (some) overpriced food and generally have a wonderful time. The track closes at 6 local time and we will be leaving an hour or two before then, most likely. How soon we get home will depend on the weather conditions (scattered storms are predicted), traffic and whether or not we stop for dinner before coming home. I should be here in the evening, hopefully having escaped exhaustion, dehydration and sunburn.
