	My eyes are half wonky right now... I found the place in the Options menu of Word to change the screen from white with black font to blue with white font... MUCH BETTER!!!

	I'll admit it, when "ick" rears it's ugly head, I open up one of my books and see what "Our Hero" is up to. I suppose I really should start working on his biography which should be interesting reading given that he was thirteen "the first time...."

	That would be a LOT better than the ick feeling I had earlier is right!! I've got the file folder containing the downloaded pics of the Canadian hottie open, to make me feel better, and I'm going to do an edit on some stuff that I prematurely spliced into #7's main manuscript file a while back................

	dives under her desk! That fat purr-bag is at it again... First she wakes me up by a failed attempt to get up on the monitor again (she looked rather silly hanging off of the front of the darn thing!) and then she went NUTSO out in the kitchen, making these goofy noises and attacking everything in sight!!! INSANE KITTY!!!

	As y'all can see via my PG writings thread, I have wrapped up Chapter 3 (I THINK!) and am now the owner of a very mooshy brain. It's past time for me to crawl into my nest loaded with blankets and to get at least a couple of hours' sleep before Son wakes me up nice and early tomorrow morning. 	I have finished proofing Book 1. I have single spaced and double spaced copies in AppleWorks. I have made single spaced and double spaced copies in Pages. . . . . I have formatting errors. Bold, italics and underline came through on the pages I've checked so far. Page break and centering did NOT and it looks like some of the paragraphing didn't make it either..... It is 1 am. I am beat. I am gonna call it a night before I start screaming and/or crying in frustration. At least I can get started on printing out the double spaced hard copy that I'll need for a hard copy submission. Everyone sleep well and be safe.

	Catching up is good. I have been awake since 7 am. I have a headache. Frustration levels (with software) are in the Red Zone. Frustration levels with agents, publishers both traditional and electronic are off the scale. Temper is not far behind. It does NOT promise to be a good day.....

	We are back from Greenwood. After I posted here this morning, I did some research while waiting for everyone else to wake up. I am not the only person with this problem and there is NO way to transfer AppleWorks word docs to Pages without MAJOR formatting errors out the wazoo. I ain't happy. Right now, it looks like that if I want to avoid spending a couple of weeks, maybe three, fighting the x 1,000 software, I'm going to have to run the manuscripts for Books One and Two through the scanner and get them into Pages that way. Since Book 3 is in "First Draft" stage, when I've finished the first draft, I'll transfer it to Pages one chapter at at time and fix the errors as I go. Apple's word processing software development team had better be damned glad I can't get at them. They would be broken and bloody....... [That's right. Still in a lousy mood but I'm probably not gonna kill my nearest and dearest.....]

	Penth! That would have me going to wherever the software developers are and shooting them anyway... If it's not broken, do NOT fix it in my mind!! That is one thing I'm grateful for, the fact that Word documents are generally compatible from an older version to a newer version, so long as there isn't a HUGE difference between the versions of it...

	The version of OSX we're using supports AppleWorks grudgingly. The newest version (which we aren't using) is even less friendly and the next version [Mountain Lion] won't support it at all, period. So if I want to continue writing, I'm going to have to convert everything to Pages. The reference materials won't be that bad, they are only a few pages at most. It is the first two books that are going to be the problem. Book 4 will be written entirely in Pages and the final draft of 3 will be too. Shooting software developers and whoever gave them the "go-ahead" sounds real good right now....

	I'm going to head out... My eyes are still hurting from yesterday and Son's wanting the computer for a while... I kinda promised him computer time last night and he didn't get any so I'm going to make sure I keep that promise today. 	I can't keep the satellite connection to save my soul and I'm so frustrated with this damned software that I could cry. Or scream. And I don't need the additional aggravation. 	Morning everyone! I'm around for a good part of the daytime while getting things ready for tomorrow.... Son has school and Hubby and I will be taking a road trip to some of the local towns in the area, as part of the research for my one story... I do NOT want any mistakes when I'm describing different parts of my county and the one to the west of us, because the locals may scream "lynch mob!" if I get even ONE thing wrong..... Time to finish getting caught up and to get another coffee!!

	Morning. Satellite is still wonky. I still have a headache. I'm still so frustrated that I could scream/cry/both. Don't know if the satellite problem is being caused by upper atmosphere ice crystals or a solar storm. Either way, keeping the connection is a PITA which I really don't need. sigh And Danger Princess just bolted out the front door. We really need an "air lock..."

	Well, it took most of yesterday and all of today but I managed to come up with enough tricks, workarounds and dodges to get Book One entered into Pages in readable condition. I still need to go through it a couple of more times to make sure that I've caught everything but I've gotten most of it cleaned up. Sometimes it pays to be "obsessive" but I prefer the term "singleminded."

	YAY Penth!!! Morning everyone! It's another clear day by the looks of things outside although I'm not sure how cold it is yet. Hubby and I will be running errands at some point today, so I'll be gone for part of the day while we're doing that. I'll be around at some points though. Time to get things packed into Son's bookbag and get things together for Bus Time!
