	The hair is washed and it no longer feels like it's going to crawl off my scalp. It looks like we're in the clear for the moment but I'll be listening for thunder the rest of the night. Nothing is heading this way but "pop-ups happen" so I'll be keeping an eye out and the weather radio handy. Now I'm going to catch up on things not weather related, including a new forum I'm thinking of joining, and let my hair dry. Post # 35,100

	Greetings! We made it to Bloomington and back without getting seriously rained on. Most of the weather action is north of Indianapolis at the moment. While I don't wish my northern neighbors ill, I would just as soon the rain stays north and moves out quickly. Now to get caught up on "not weather" things.....

	Skywise is on his way to work. It is currently uncomfortably humid and partly sunny. That's a bad combination but at least it isn't raining now and that will give the rivers and creeks a chance to go down a bit and the water to recede from the flooded streets/roads. We also have wind which helps dry things out a bit.

	No rain so far today and the wind is starting to die a bit. I'm glad, the incessant sound of wind makes me very nervous and I've had enough of that the last couple of weeks. The property tax bills came today and there were no unpleasant surprises. I wasn't expecting any since we got the reassessment notices earlier this year and there was no change in them. So it's all good.

	I'm back. The stormfront has passed and it's cooling off fast. When the storm hit two "somethings" hit the roof hard enough to send the cats scrambling and it unnerved us humans too! We'll inspect things in the morning when it's light. Skywise is home -- he had to drive home through the storm so I'm going to head out and try to relax enough to sleep. 	Back. I had a nice nap with the Queen and I've been doing dishes, crocheting and deliming the ice tea machine since I got up -- but NOT at the same time! 	A little before midnight, two ladder trucks blasted past, heading north, and I smelled smoke when I went out to investigate. From the sound of it, the fire is pretty well north of us. Hopefully, they'll get it knocked down quickly. And my ears hurt. There's an intersection right at the end of our driveway and the drivers wanted to be sure that everyone in the township knew that they were coming through although at this time of night, we're about the only ones still awake. No more trucks have gone by so things must be pretty much under control. I wonder what "got away" from someone this time of night. I'm sure that no one was burning trash or brush this late.
