	Afternoon. This is what I came up with since it pretty much describes what this type of thread is used for. Another rainy day, we're hoping that it won't be raining on the 4th since the local fireworks are still "on". I'm telling the girls we should have a "backup plan" in case it rains or the event is cancelled at the last minute -- which could happen. A load is in the washer and dinner is in the crockpot so I have the leisure to get caught up. Although given the state of the world, I may regret doing it!

	Morning. Spirit had a dental appointment this morning. Fortunately, the office was open. We had to wait for her in the van but that was okay. She knows everyone in the dentist's office and they know her so there were no problems. We have the A/C on -- thank the Gods! -- and I'm sitting here paying bills. Some things never change, even during a pandemic..

	A pop-up thunderstorm has passed to the south of us. Noisy but no action, which is fine since we had plenty of rain over the weekend. A book I wasn't expecting until the 9th arrived today so I'm a happy girl. I've got a couple of things to do before I settle in to read it.

	The rain never developed here which is good. We've had enough for a while. Got a lot done today. All that's left is dinner and since I won't be starting that for a while, I'm gonna get off my feet for a bit.

	Things cleared off long enough to make the pizza dough, now when it's time to bake it, the storms are back and moving in from the south this time. Oh happy day! At least Moonie and I got to see last week's Stargirl.

	Afternoon. The air quality is better today thanks to all the rain. Humid as hell though. Can't have everything. Skywise is planning his next group of major projects -- gonna need to buy a new power tool or two. I need a new drill bit or two for my projects but mostly, I'm going to be transcribing/editing information from various sources into word documents for my own use which -- since it's still hot and humid as hell and I don't handle those things as well as I did 30 - 40 years ago -- is about all I can do once my "inside" chores are done. Now I will take a quick look around the world and then retreat for the sake of my mental health....

	I have successfully retreated from the world. Poor Skywise is heading into it -- work -- but at least most of the people he works with are reasonably sane. I will now start checking things off of my "Things I Have to Do" list and my "Things I Want to Do" list.

	Morning. Back from town. We're very, VERY happy! The dining room at Arby's was open so we didn't have to eat our meal in the van. Which is good 'cause it feels like "summer" out there and eating inside with A/C was a blessing. Now to get caught up before I hide for the day.

	Just finished watching *Agents of SHIELD*. My newsfeed has undoubtedly blown up after what we just saw. I think I'll stay away from there for tonight -- maybe tomorrow. Or at least until things settle down. The Gods know I have enough other stuff to keep me busy!

	Afternoon. We've been back for a while but BUSY. Skywise took the van to work 'cause the car -- a DAMNED CHEVY -- needs to go to the shop AGAIN! I KNEW we should have bought a Ford! In other news, the A/C at the Old House is down, meaning there will be no or very little work done up there until it's back up. Skywise is going to check it out over the weekend to see if it's something a simple cleaning/maintenance will fix. Hoping that the 90+ degree weather forecast for the weekend doesn't last long! Lastly, my knees are giving me all sorts of multi-dimensional HELL today, probably because of what I did yesterday in the basement -- trying to bring some sort of order out of the chaos down there. Painkiller has just been taken and I'm going to get off my feet until it kicks in. Then I will attempt to get done what MUST be done and maybe do a thing or two that I want to do. We'll see.

	Moonie just captured and removed to the great outdoors a small mouse that apparently either sneaked into the house or was brought in by one of the cats. Either way, it appears unharmed and will be freed a good distance from the house!

	It now looks like the local fireworks will go on as scheduled and Moonie has enough "backup supplies" to blow up the neighborhood -- figuratively, of course! We will probably shoot them off after dark on Sunday. The Gods know we need it, given how things have been.

	Greetings. I'm going to check a few things on Facebook and then hide. The propaganda is flying thick and fast and I want none of it! I've got a new book to read for my studies as well as some other reading I need to do, a crafty project as well as my usual chores. I'm SICK AND TIRED of all the fake "outrage", violence and just everything. and since I can't make it stop, I'm going to avoid it.

	I have a stack of illustrations to scan. The computer refuses to recognize the scanner. We think an unasked for and unauthorized OS update has something to do with it. The scanner insists it is a printer and has no ink. We've never used it as a printer which is why there is no ink in it. We got it to work once before but I can't remember how and my stumbling around hasn't yielded any results. I'll have to wait for Skywise to come home -- yes, the bastards at the Post Office scheduled him to work today! -- since he got it working last time. THIS TIME we'll write down the damned instructions so I can use it when I need to! I want a new scanner........
