	Greetings!! Happy 4th of July! We slept in this morning and skipped going to Greenwood since the places we most wanted to go to were closed for the holiday. And since the dining rooms there are still closed, we decided that it was too hot and inconvenient to drive all that way just to eat in the parking lot. So we went to the Arby's in town and ate inside in air conditioned comfort. Now we're home and Skywise is getting ready to cut the grass. Why the damned grass has to grow so fast I do NOT know! The fireworks in town are still on as far as we know so that's the plan for tonight.

	I AM SO MAD I HAVE A HEADACHE AND DON'T DARE CHECK MY BLOOD PRESSURE!!!!!!!!!!!! THE HOUSE INSURANCE IS SCREWED UP AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE COMPANY WANTS THE FULL YEAR PAID IN ADVANCE INSTEAD OF MONTHLY PAYMENTS!!! COME MONDAY, ALL KINDS OF HELL WILL BE RAISED!!!!

	We're back from the fireworks and I must say it was considerably more pleasant than in past years. Because of Covid-19, the city fathers decided to split the festivities between two areas. Loud, usually semi-talented local bands playing bad covers of good country and/or rock and the food vendors were located away from the city park where the fireworks show was held. This resulted in only those who wanted to see the fireworks in the park and the noisy, frequently obnoxious "music fans" nowhere near the park. "Social distancing" was easy. Children could -- and did -- play without their frantic parents losing them in the crowd. And leaving the park when the show was over was a lot easier due to no vehicles being allowed in the park and fewer people and those people had not been drinking beer all day. At least they weren't drinking in the park! All in all, a very pleasant experience. I hope they do the same next year even if there's no pandemic.

	Greetings. We started early and have been "flying low" since we got up. I'm now parked at the computer, in front of a fan with iced tea. I need to catch my breath -- not to mention cool off, the heat that was expected yesterday arrived today -- before I start anything! So I'm gonna get cool and caught up.

	Very, VERY glad the fireworks were last night and not tonight. It's hot, humid and the air quality stinks -- literally. My upper respiratory tract is NOT happy at all and I'm "aware" of it even in the house with the A/C on. I don't know what it's going to take to clear the air out but I hope it comes soon. I really don't want to have to wear a N-95 mask in the house...

	Decided to lay off the painkillers for a while. My blood is too runny -- which becomes obvious when I poke my finger to test my glucose and it keeps bleeding. Not much, mind you, but more than it's supposed to. So........ if the pain gets bad, I'll be toughing it out while prone. Fortunately, I have a TON of reading to do.

	Afternoon. Today was busy. The insurance office is closed for the duration and I decided to call them tomorrow. I'm still a little too steamed about this. Another day to calm down would be a good thing. Skywise is still trying to figure out why the scanner won't scan. Drastic measures may be called for that he doesn't have time for before he leaves for work. Skywise decided to have the car towed to the dealership for repairs which is good 'cause we could get a deal on parts AND they have a shuttle service so when the car's ready, they'll come and get him. Which considering that all kinds of detours are in effect for that area -- road construction -- is a VERY GOOD THING! The ozone alert is over but now the Heat Index will be between 95 and 100 today. I'll be staying in. I wish Skywise could too.

	Afternoon. We're back from our produce run. I bought a pair of over the counter reading glasses which I hope will help with my eyestrain. I knew I needed new glasses in January and decided to wait until March to get an appointment so I wouldn't have to worry about a snow or ice storm making it impossible to keep the appointment. You can guess how that worked out..... So..... I'll be using over the counter reading glasses until I can get prescription glasses and only the Gods know when that will be. Soon, I hope!!! 	I've discovered that the new face masks don't have nose pieces in them. Fortunately, I bought a huge package of them for my homemade masks so tomorrow I'll get them out and figure out how to add them to the new masks. It shouldn't be too much of a problem.
