In silent stillness I watch you and wonder
what great power formed and shaped you.
Your walls so thick they can shut in the light
and keep every sound contained in you.
Was it love or hate that formed you,
kindness or cruelty that fashioned you?
Are you the creation of immutable judgement,
or the cruel prison of a tyrant?
I sit inside your strong silent walls
and I ponder what is to become of me?
Will you protect me from harm to come,
or are you the prison that keeps me chained?
These questions unanswered for all eternity,
and yet I am contained and kept in you;
